I seem to be
on some kind of a
pie - making kick these
days.
This alternative ice cream
pie is so YUMMY and refreshing
on a hot
day plus it's dairy free (vegan), gluten free and nut free — perfect for anyone and everyone including those with dietary restrictions.
My father, who finds pumpkin
pie to be the only acceptable sweet
on turkey
day, would disagree, but he wasn't visiting this year.
After almost two weeks of time off over the holidays, it was really hard to contemplate going back to work, so
on my last
day off, to make myself feel better about it, I made the most comforting thing I could think of: apple
pie.

pie out and let thaw, then put in the oven at 325 Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes.
There's no rule against having

For the non-geeks out there, Pi
Day is celebrated
on March 14th because pi is 3.141592 (etc.) Ideally one should start consuming
pie at 1:59 this Friday.

Use a kitchen torch or like we used to do back in the
day, use the broiler in your oven with the
pie set a good 6 - 8 ″ away from the flame and keep an eye
on it... it can go from brown to totally burnt in seconds!!!!

day snack, breakfast, or dessert for you to enjoy all fall.

pie on Sunday, partly for the purpose of having a
pie to post, but got so wrapped up in St Patrick's
Day treats since then that I almost forgot about it.
