I simply purchased cheap
pillow inserts from Ikea (or you can just cover existing pillows) and then went to town at my local fabric store.
Unzip the pillowcase and remove
the pillow insert from the pillowcase.
Pillow case has inside flap to keep
pillow insert from slipping out.

Funny enough, there was a printer literally blocks
from where I lived, and one of the top
pillow insert companies in the country was just down the block
from where I was working!
I got the pillowcases
from Morocco and India when I was traveling there, and then filled them with
pillow inserts when I got back!
I have never been disappointed with anything I have purchased
from Garnet Hill and the
pillow inserts were no exception.
I then cut a piece of cardboard almost the same size as the
pillow cover and
inserted it inside to keep the paint
from seeping through.
Inexpensive Fixes Using two striped curtain panels that I bought on clearance
from our local Walmart, I made a
pillow for our bay window (I simply sewed a covering for a
pillow insert), made a smaller
pillow for the rocking chair that's in that room, and recovered an old chair that had been sitting in a spare bedroom upstairs.
The
pillows were
inserts my mom no longer wanted, and I sewed them up with some leftover fabric
from this project, and then turned an old sweater into a
pillow!
