The
recipe may call for
pine nuts, but pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds are way cheaper.
I take any excess vegetables - e.g., spring onions, leeks, green garlic, beets, kale - and combine them in a food processor with some toasted
nuts (almonds or
pine nuts), a little hard cheese, and some garlic, vinegar, and olive oil (
recipe at right).
I switched the
recipe a bit as I didn't have
pine nuts or coriander leaves so I put in 1/2 tsp of ground coriander and I was going to toast pumpkin seeds for an added crunch, but I forgot to make them.
I was wondering if the
recipe would still taste as amazing with pepita seeds instead of
pine nuts?
I'm allergic to
pine nuts and I know you use them in a lot of your salad
recipes?
* However in the
recipe you ask for
pine nuts while there are hazelnuts on the picture — is this a typo or does it just not matter?
Everyone needs a simple basil and
pine nut pesto
recipe and this one is my go - to.
I also like to use variations on the tomato sauce and
pine nut cream when I'm coming up with other
recipes of my own!
This
recipe calls for 1/2 cup

recipe to make a fake sort of «feta cheese» and I use it with kale to make a spanakopita.
Similar to the
recipe for Asparagus with Shredded Egg and Pistachios, this one also adds some protein (goat cheese) and healthy fat (
pine nuts).
In fact, if you don't have any goat cheese or
pine nuts on hand, just stop after Step 3 in the
recipe below and you'll still have a tasty side.

I have trouble finding pesto

pine nuts in them (food allergy).
Here, I've tweaked the
recipe a bit by using pistachios instead of traditional
pine nuts.
While many pesto
recipes call for
pine nuts, we prefer the flavor (and lower price) of walnuts.
