I always get nervous
piping frosting on cupcakes (not my forte) so I appreciate it.

When the
cupcakes are cooled,
pipe the
frosting on top of each.
Add the
frosting with a
piping bag and tip, and
pipe on to the cereal treat
cupcakes.
Spoon
frosting into decorating bag fitted with # 1M star tip;
pipe frosting in circular pattern
on tops of
cupcakes.
You can either spread the
frosting on the
cupcakes with a small spatula or, if
piping, use a large Wilton 1M open or closed star tip to make lovely swirls.
Transfer the mixture to a
piping bag or just use a spoon to add the
frosting on top of the cooled
cupcakes.
To assemble, Heikki
piped cashew
frosting over the
cupcakes, and I dropped a few caramelized cashews (instructions here)
on top of each one.

I've been looking for a recipe for vanilla
frosting that
pipes like yours seems to do
on the white and pink
cupcakes at the top (lovely photos, btw!).
Once the
cupcakes are completely cool, use a
piping bag or a knife to spread the
frosting on each
cupcake as you'd like.
The vanilla
cupcake recipe photo has chocolate
frosting piped on to look neater than just smearing it
on.
Place it in the fridge for 20 minutes (or longer) to firm up before
piping the
frosting on top of the
cupcakes.
If you would like a generous amount of
frosting, or if you want to
pipe the
frosting on top of the
cupcakes, you can double the
frosting.
Take cooled
cupcakes and
pipe chocolate cream cheese
frosting in a circular motion starting
on the outside edge of
cupcake.
That pretty
piping on those
cupcakes was not made with a separate
frosting tip and
frosting bag I bought.
** If you're just doing a light layer of the
frosting and spreading it
on the
cupcakes with a knife, rather than
piping it, you can cut the
frosting recipe in half!
If you don't have that
piping tip, just spread the
frosting on the
cupcakes!
