There is no maximum coat length requirement in the American
pit bull terrier standard.
The National Kennel Club American
pit bull terrier standard is more restrictive, accepting most colors and patterns with the exceptions of shades of gray and blue coloration and the merle coat pattern.
The American
Pit Bull Terrier standard calls for a male dog to stand between 18 to 21 inches tall, with females slightly smaller.

Pit Bull Terrier was bred for working and fighting ability and not for his looks, the breed
standard is not as strict as for many other breeds.

standard, while the American Staffordshire
Terrier can be any color at all, although all - white dogs or dogs more than 80 percent white, as well as black and tan and liver, are «not to be encouraged.»
