It's a great little game with gorgeous
pixel art animation, a wonderfully whimsical game world and some challenging platforming gameplay as you search for the three crowns.
As far as design is concerned, EITR's
pixel art animations are beautifully smooth, impressive, and create a fascinatingly bleak aesthetic.

For instance, the game was lacking the traditional work element of the initial trailer so we changed the enemy
art from
pixel art to hand - drawn
animation.
The presentation however is fantastic, perfectly recreating 8 - bit games with gorgeous
pixel art, fluid old school
animation, and appropriately catchy 8 - bit music.

It probably does come down to personal taste though, I think Octopath's visual style is an anachronistic mess because to me,
pixel art and modern shader effects do not mix at all, and the reliance on these technically disparate shaders whizzing about without any real combat
animations makes everything look significantly more static and lifeless than a classic JRPG to me.

The
pixel art in both areas is exceedingly good, with
animations quite comical and of a high framerate.

pixel art and
animation seen in the video.
It's as chaotic as it sounds, but the clean
pixel art and expressive
animation makes it simple to follow, and every triumph and screw - up is visible to all.
His specialties are
pixel art and
animation, but is also very keen of game design and development.
The
pixel art, the excellent
animations and the effects found within, it's certainly a game to watch and will hopefully see a 2017 release.
The
animation and
pixel art reminds me of the 16 bit era, in particular one of my favorite games, Sunset Riders.
