February 4 — April 30, 2017 Nottingham Contemporary is presenting a major new exhibition, The Place Is Here, in collaboration with the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven.
By any standards, the last 12 months represent a significant stage in the artist's 35 - year career: alongside two solo exhibitions at Modern Art Oxford and Spike Island in Bristol, Himid was included in «The Place is Here», a survey of black British art at Nottingham Contemporary.
For black British artists who emerged during the early 1980s (the focus of a recent display, «The Place is Here», at the South London Gallery), Bowling provided a tangible link between two historical moments.
