I saw someone asking about substitution in the recipe so I have to ask, You say water will not work and I can understand that easily, but could you use egg whites in
place of the buttermilk or would they burn in the oven?
Just a note that using coconut milk in
place of the buttermilk / plant yogurt turns out delicious!

I have used milk in
place of buttermilk.
My only complaint with these pancakes was how thin they were; it may have been because I used buttermilk powder and water in
place of the buttermilk.
I also use kefir in
place of buttermilk.
At that point, some people use it in
place of buttermilk, while others add a little bit of yogurt and let the mixture sit out on the counter for 24 hours to make kefir.
Can milk mixed in with lemon juice be used in

Excellent recipe, I use whatever I have in
place of buttermilk, be it milk and lemon or sour cream, natural yoghurt, hazelnut yoghurt etc..
I did use 3/4 cup fat free half and half and 2/4 cup skim milk in
