Dietary needs forced me to make a few substitutions, I used Udees GF Oats,

Here's what I changed: I used a 15 - oz can
of pumpkin (not pie filling — just
pumpkin puree) in
place of the bananas; I swapped out the spices
for about 1 tsp each
of cinnamon and ginger, and mixed those in with the
pumpkin first; I opted
for the larger volume
of maple syrup from the original recipe, as the
pumpkin wouldn't contribute sweetness the way the bananas do; I baked the batter as a dozen standard muffins, which took about 20 minutes at 350.
My other changes to the original pancake recipe were using
pumpkin in lieu
of sweet potato (but I put in more than called
for) and coconut oil in
place of butter.

Squashes and
pumpkins are an important part
of a local - centered diet, especially
for those
of us in
places with a short growing season.
Place the
pumpkin «lid» on top and bake in the oven

pumpkin), this depends on the oven and on the size and type
of the

I have some raw sprouted

for making these, however I don't do well with rolled grains as I prefer being able to soak my grains first and then make them into homemade flours in my ever - so - well - used Vita - mix — what could I used in

pumpkin seeds) 1/4 cup dried unsulphured papaya, cut in 1/4 inch cubes 1/4 cup dried unsulphured pineapple, cut in 1/4 inch cubes or 1/2 cup raisins or other dried fruit (in
place of papaya and pineapple) Additional agave nectar
for brushing the cake (about 1/4 cup)
To do this,
place seeds in a sauce pan with just enough water to cover, adding 1 tablespoon
of salt
for every cup
of pumpkin seeds.
I had gone to that one
place that makes them (we all know who that is) and I asked them to make one
for her with almond milk instead
of milk and then I had an idea that I should ask what is in the
pumpkin puré that they put in it.
You can use your crock pot butternut squash
for anything from butternut squash soup to baked goods (you can even use it in
place of pumpkin).

You can use more
pumpkin in
place of the applesauce or vice versa, or sub an equal measure
of peeled and finely grated zucchini
for both, but I found I liked this combo best.
To roast your whole
pumpkin, cut off the top, scoop out the insides, and
place in a pan with a half inch
of water and bake at 375 degrees
for about 30 minutes or until soft.

This time
of year is perfect
for pumpkin recipes, but I use
pumpkin all year round in many savory recipes in
place of tomato sauce.
I knew I wanted to use my charcoal linen napkins
for this setting
of grays, whites, and plum, and I also knew that the white
pumpkins would pop beautifully
