Hi, I have an allergy to almonds and often use ground sunflower seeds
in place of the almonds in other recipes calling for ground almonds....
Swap out nuts with seeds such as pumpkin and sunflower and add flaxseed meal in
place of almond meal.
I have a lot of walnuts and pecans lying around the house and I was wondering do you think I could use one or both in
place of the almonds next time?
This time around I used homemade chocolate cashew butter in
place of the almond butter because it's what I had on - hand and they tasted just as good if not better.
Next up on my list of things to try is making this shake with hazelnut milk in
place of the almond milk, and maybe a splash of coffee.
Thinking about making these this year but I was wondering what you would use in
place of the almond meal since I have a kid allergic to nuts.
You could even use raw sunflower seeds or raw cashews in
place of the almonds if you prefer, but I went with raw almonds because they add an incredibly mild flavor and I tend to have them on hand most often.
Any nut better can be used in
place of almond of nut butter, and agave works well as a vegan - freindly sub for honey.
Usually you can replace cashews in
place of almond pretty easily, you just have to make sure to ground the cashews to be really fine.
You could try using finely ground white cornmeal mixed with maybe a teaspoon or two flaxseed meal in
place of the almond meal, or... even sorghum flour mixed with some flaxseed.
* SUBSTITUTIONS - You can substitute additional oats or pecans in
place of the almonds if you can't have them, and white / gluten free flour for the almond flour if needed.
Nut - Free: In
place of almonds, you can use more chocolate chips — or a different raw chopped nut if you can tolerate some nuts but not others.
You can use any nut butter in
place of the almond butter.
Can I use Bob's Red Mill almond meal in
place of the almond flour?
We have also been enjoying the broccoli soup though I used ground cashews in
place of the almond flour.
Or if you have tapioca flour I suggest using that in
place of the almond flour.
Do you think sunflower seed butter would work in
place of almond butter?
I used Bobs Red Mill Paleo flour 1 cups in
place of the almond and arrowroot.
This is a variation on the classic Pear Frangipane Tart using sunflower seeds in
place of almonds.
I get asked a lot whether almond flour can be used in a recipe in
place of almond meal and vice versa.
If it's as absorbent as coconut flour, then you'll need about 1/2 cup of pumpkin purée in
place of the almond milk.
If you really want an exaggerated coffee flavor, I'd try using coffee in
place of the almond milk (still adding the vinegar) or replacing half of the milk with coffee.
I followed the exact same method as I do in my homemade almond milk, but I used pecans in
place of the almonds and maple syrup instead of honey (just because I'm not eating honey at the moment).
Also if I wanted to use peanut butter powder in
place of the almond butter for fat savings, do you think the flavor would work okay with the pumpkin?
I don't recommend using peanut butter powder in
place of the almond butter because it's too drastic of a change to assure similar results.
The dough is crumbly when coconut flour is used in
place of almond flour, or when the brands of almond flour I recommend are not used: --RRB-

Hi Simone — I'm actually going to try using Tigernut flour in
place of the almond flour to see how it works out.
My changes are Pepitas in
place of the almonds / pecans and the addition of dried cranberries which goes well with the apples.
I hated wasting it, so I started adding the coconut water to smoothies and smoothie bowls in
place of almond milk.
