Here's what I changed: I used a 15 - oz can of pumpkin (not pie filling — just pumpkin puree) in
place of the bananas; I swapped out the spices for about 1 tsp each of cinnamon and ginger, and mixed those in with the pumpkin first; I opted for the larger volume of maple syrup from the original recipe, as the pumpkin wouldn't contribute sweetness the way the bananas do; I baked the batter as a dozen standard muffins, which took about 20 minutes at 350.
It might sound crazy, but you could use silken tofu in
place of bananas or another fruit you prefer instead.
Would pumpkin work in

Here's the cookie recipe using applesauce in
place of the banana and dried fruit in place of the chocolate.
Try dried blueberries, cranberries, or raisins in
place of the banana — they offer a nice chewy texture.
You can actually use some pumpkin puree in
place of the bananas too.
I used plain Greek yogurt in
place of the banana, and about 1/4 cup dried cranberries in place of the coconut.
I've since made the recipe a few more times (once with ~ 1 cup butternut squash puree and once with sweet potato puree in
place of the banana) but none have really worked out as well as the banana.
I can't speak for the author but I've used applesauce in
place of banana and it works really well!
I'm also thinking I could use pumpkin in
place of bananas or zucchini for a fun change.
In any case, it's always a great idea to buy and freeze some overripe peaches:) Like seemingly everyone else in the (smoothie) world, I've been changing up my smoothie routine by using various frozen vegetables in
place of banana, for a lower sugar start to the day.
Definitely avocado and I just froze some for smoothies in
place of bananas!!
I think the next time I see some good blueberries in the store, I will try this recipe with blueberries in
place of the banana and see how it goes.

I have a lot of mashed pumpkin to use up and using 2 cups (about a can's worth if you don't have a pumpkin) of mashed pumpkin in
place of the banana resulted in pumpkin bread.
