Honey can be used in
place of the cane sugar.

Or you can use maple syrup,
cane sugar and / or stevia in
place of honey if that's your thing.
You can use light brown
sugar, or light muscavado
sugar in
place of the natural
cane sugar.
Unfortunately I don't know any alternatives, but you could try adding an additional 2 tablespoons
of cane sugar in
place of the syrup and increasing the cream
of tartar to 1/4 teaspoon.
I just made these using blueberries instead
of raspberries, subbing in coconut milk and then coconut
sugar in
place of the
cane.
Since I can't eat
cane sugar, I used Endangered Species chocolate bars chopped up in
place of the chocolate chips.
I also swapped in some maple syrup in
place of some
of the
cane sugar, for the simple reason that I just love my maple syrup (very Canadian, eh?)
To make about 3 quarts
of ginger ale,
place the following ingredients in a glass or stainless steel pot: 1 cup fresh ginger, grated; 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice; 1/2 cup unrefined
cane sugar; 2 teaspoons sea salt; 1/2 cup whey (optional), and 3 quarts filtered water.
When putting this diet strategy into
place, parents remove maple syrup,
cane sugar, agave nectar, brown rice syrup and other sources
of sugars from snacks and meals.
Be sure to use raw cacao, plain cocoa, or 100 % baking chocolate in
place of sugary sources
of chocolate (which often contain milk and
cane sugar).
I would suggest staying away from the brands that use
sugar cane in the blend because that defeats the purpose
of using stevia in the first
place.
Notes: For smoother
sugar, simply pulse Sucanat or palm
sugar in a food processor or coffee / spice grinder You can also use organic, unbleached
cane sugar in
place of Sucanat or coconut palm
sugar.
