Prepared with silken tofu in
place of the eggs and
butter called for in traditional recipes, this chocolate cake is one
of the healthiest around, and it is still so tasty!Frost with whatever
dairy - free frosting suits the occassion.
Use a
dairy - free crunchy cookie crumb (my gluten free graham crackers work great), and Earth Balance buttery sticks in
place of the
butter, gram for gram.
I used applesauce in
place of butter to ensure these could be
dairy free so my dad could eat them, but if
dairy isn't a concern for you then feel free to switch out the applesauce for an equal amount
of melted
butter.
I loved that it was also for the most part
dairy free — I used some
dairy free
butter and coconut milk in
place of the cream in the glaze and I was really happy with it, as were the rest

I needed this to be completely

And I used Smart Balance organic in
place of butter in both recipes as well — so much like the
dairy versions, you couldn't tell at all.
My family consumes a variety
of dairy on a daily basis, such as the milk in today's Cinnamon Peanut
Butter Chia Seed Pudding recipe, and I can appreciate knowing it's coming from a
place that is strongly dedicated to preserving our environment and providing a fresh, quality product.
Fab flavour combos, orange white choc and cranberry always go great together — I also used raw honey in
place of agave as I believe its a more natural, unrefined sweetner (agave isnt as innocent as you might think — read up about it) As for those
of you who wanted to know about the white choc chips, well I avoid all
dairy and refined sugars so I simply made my own, its dead easy — simply combine pure raw cacao
butter (gently melted) with a pinch
of celtic salt, a little extract
of vanilla and some raw cashew
butter, then freeze in a suitable container before breaking into chunks!!!!! yummy You can make dark chocolate chips even easier by melting pure coconut oil and stirring in a little vanilla, honey and raw cacao powder before freezing!!!
Just make the apple filling as directed and dot with 1 tablespoon
of butter or
dairy - free alternative before
placing in the oven.

I used palm shortening in

butter are both out), and it worked, but the cookies spread a bit more than what's in the picture.
You can always use a vegan
butter if you want to make this
dairy free, and a gluten - free flour blend works well here in
place of white flour.

This vegetarian chestnut soup recipe is also vegan as long as you use vegan margarine or oil (and not
butter) and soymilk in

In order to avoid this issue, purified ingredient diet formulas which are open to the public (i.e. AIN - 76A) can be easily revised to intentionally alter the atherosclerosis phenotype by adding in fat calories (i.e.
dairy butter, hydrogenated coconut oil) in
place of purified carbohydrate calories only (i.e. sucrose, corn starch).
If you can't eat
dairy, you can use coconut oil or ghee in
place of butter in the hollandaise sauce, though it does change the flavor.

So about the substitutions... I have used several coconut products in

butter but really it does not taste at all like coconut.

Better options include using
dairy creamers in
place of non-
dairy creamers and cooking for yourself using olive oil, coconut oil, or grass fed
butter.

butter may work, but, since I haven't personally tried this, I can't say for sure!
