Can I use rice cheese in
place of the dairy cheese?
Note: If you're a vegan, use vegan cheese in
place of dairy cheese and soy yogurt or coconut yogurt in place of dairy yogurt suggested in the recipes.

It can easily be made vegan, too, by adding extra olive oil to replace the butter, and serving
dairy - free toppings in
place of the cheddar
cheese and sour cream, or skipping them entirely.

places to be buried than Whole Foods).
Swēt Ride is located in a cute storefront in the Del Ray section
of Alexandria, Virginia, in between the Caboose Cafe and Cheesetique wine and
cheese bar, and catty - corner from the
Dairy Godmother frozen custard shop — not that I've been to any
of these other
places.
Unlike nutritional yeast, using
dairy free
cheese in
place of the regular stuff would be pretty simple.
As to the
dairy, nothing can take the
place of blue
cheese but if you are lactose intolerant try eating goat
cheese instead.
We made some slight modifications to omit the
dairy: used mayo in
place of yogurt, diaya «cheddar» in
place of regular
cheese and just a dash
of coconut aminos in lieu
of the parmesan
cheese.
I used almond milk in
place of dairy milk and for the cream
cheese I substituted cashew cream (just cashews and a little water in a high speed blender).
Ingredients: • 1 pound pasta (
of your choice, gluten free works well with this recipe) • 2 small acorn squash • 2 Tbsp olive oil • 1 medium onion • 1/3 cup fresh basil — washed and chopped • 1 tsp salt • 1 Tbsp coconut oil • 1 cup soft goat
cheese • 1 - 2 Tbsp rice milk (original and unsweetened) Please note: the last 3 ingredients can be replaced with one cup
of heavy cream if cow
dairy is not a concern for your family Instructions: • Cut squash in half and onions is quarters, drizzle with olive oil •
Place squash cut side down in a baking dish, surround with the onions and cover with aluminum foil • Bake at 400o for 30 - 40 min or until the squash is tender • Cook the pasta according to package directions • In a small sauce pan melt coconut oil, add goat cheese and allow to melt — stirring consistently • Add rice milk until desired consistency • Remove the squash flesh from the skin and place the flesh in the food processor with the onion, salt and basil — puree until smooth • Slowly add the melted goat cheese mixture while continuing to puree until you have a smooth sauce • Toss the squash / cheese mixture with the pasta and serve this delicious healthy kids

Speaking
of fat, consider adding a healthy, nutrient - dense fat like avocado in
place of cheese (if
dairy bothers you) so you still get that yummy creaminess without the extra
dairy.
If you eat
dairy, cream
cheese in
place of coconut butter may work, but, since I haven't personally tried this, I can't say for sure!
