during the industrial
placement year of a
degree or through a work experience
placement shadowing a CRA.
During my
degree I completed 6 - month research
placements at Cancer Research UK, Southampton and at the Department of Pharmacology, University of Oxford.
This can include part - time work
during your
degree, summer
placements and internships, as well as voluntary work and work shadowing.
Generally, the best form of work experience for computer science students is to do a
placement year as part of your
degree because of the quantity of experience you will gain; however, internships
during the holidays are also valuable.
