While I like them riper than I did in my childhood days, there's a point where they are just to sweet for eating
plain & are perfect for adding to
oatmeal or topping a piece of toast with almond or
peanut butter.
I can't just make
plain old
peanut butter cookies, I need to make
peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, chia seed
peanut butter oatmeal cookies or
peanut butter pretzel chocolate chip cookies.
Today there are several flavors of Famous Amos Cookies, including
oatmeal chocolate chip,
oatmeal raisin, and
peanut butter, but it is the
plain chocolate chip cookies that are the most popular.

Anyhow, my son has been asking me to keep making
oatmeal for him and since the
plain oatmeal won't cut it any more after making the dark chocolate and
peanut butter and apple pie
oatmeal, I figured I try a new version.
Eggs,
plain yogurt with fresh fruit,
oatmeal, a fresh fruit smoothie with yogurt, milk, or nut milk, a slice of real, whole - grain bread with almond or
peanut butter (skip the Skippy!).
Since that first taste we've eaten them sliced with
peanut butter or almond
butter,
plain, chopped up on top of
oatmeal, baked into a breakfast oven pancake and I have loved every single use of them.
Every Sunday I make a combination of
oatmeal, non-fat
plain yogurt (good for their tummies) and
peanut butter.
