Send a Letter to the Editor We always encourage our supporters to send a letter to your
local newspaper expressing our thoughts, ideas, and convictions about any subject relating to the
services we provide at
Planned Parenthood
health centers.
Fifteen
local Planned Parenthood affiliates across the country were recognized as leaders in teen pregnancy prevention as they were selected by the Department of
Health and Human
Services to receive new grant funding as part of President Obama's Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative.
Generation Action chapters across the country organize public events, educate their peers, support their
local Planned Parenthood
health centers, and mobilize students and other young people to speak out for reproductive rights and access to reproductive
health services.
The
local programs serving these families are putting a high priority on outcomes that are relevant for improving infant and maternal
health, and they have the implementation system supports in place to carry out their
service plans.
This funding for family
planning services, which was repeatedly vetoed by Governor Christie despite the passionate efforts of legislative champions, supports preventive reproductive
health care
services like cancer screenings, birth control, and STD testing and treatment at New Jersey's family
planning providers, including
Planned Parenthood
health centers and other
local community providers.
We are working towards building a network of
local campus chapters that will create easier access to
health services at
Planned Parenthood and other
local reproductive
health centers.
