JIGSAW (GEO) is designed to produce very high - quality Delaunay triangulations and Voronoi tessellations appropriate for unstructured finite - volume / element type models of
planetary climate dynamics.

The GISS Global
Climate Model (GCM) is already made up of hundreds of thousands of lines of computer code, and now it will be expanded substantially to allow for the 3D visualization of exoplanet
climates and
planetary dynamics as well.
Many of these dramatic shifts involve
climate,
planetary and solar system
dynamics that until recently played a limited role in exoplanet research.
With or without global warming, there's a solid argument that improved understanding of
planetary dynamics, particularly the
climate system, is essential to sustaining human progress given how risks rise as populations expand, build, farm and concentrate in zones that are implicitly vulnerable to hard knocks like floods, droughts, heat and severe storms.
But
climate change is a
planetary problem, and it's not easy to capture its
dynamics in one photograph, no matter how wide - angle the lens.
I hope that Anthony realizes that Leif mislead him, and that
planetary harmonics is key to understand both solar
dynamics and
climate change, as my papers strongly suggested.
I look forward to your forthcoming presentation, which I hope will recognize that the
planetary climate system is one forced by energy inputs from OUTSIDE and not by intrinsic INTERNAL
dynamics.
William is a group leader of the
climate dynamics group at the subdepartment of Atmospheric, Oceanic and
Planetary Physics at Oxford.
Outside of a few well known fluid
dynamics equations, the
climate models are really just algorithms trying to replicate past
planetary climate conditions (both from the recent past and the very distant past).
