I've been wanting to tackle a wood
plank wall SO bad!
I love
plank walls so much, but I have a dilemna sorta and need some advice.

The vaulted
wall in your breakfast area almost mirrors ours,
so I love seeing what the
planks look like there... hmmm, mind if I borrow your husband for a few days!
I'd love to
plank the
walls with a white tongue and groove
so I'm biding my time until that is a possibility.
And, remember, the winning color will only be on a couple small
walls (the rest of the room will be clad in white - painted wood
planks)-
so not only will the bed & bedding not be touching whichever
wall color wins, it will be on the opposite side of the room from it too!
I think if you use pallet wood
planks that's spaced a bit apart for circulation and protrudes from the
wall an inch or
so would be great.
So the designer embarked on a two - year renovation, which netted a fresh kitchen, as well as a backdrop of smooth ceilings, light - coloured cedar
walls and wide -
plank oak floors that make the small space feel expansive.
I've heard of Hardiboard for siding, and
so assumed rightly that it is related to your
planked walls, but didn't realize they were a concrete product!
we have just built our house & we're almost at second fix carpentry stage and i had originally planned on a salvaged brick
wall but i have that in our dining room and it was workin out too expensive,
so then i thought vertical
planks but i much rather the horizontal
planks now since seeing them on your blog - thank you for the wonderful inspiration.

so I'm adding a picture of our family beach house, with natural wood

in the picture, the ends of the
planks look
so perfectly cut and flush to the

So I pulled everything out of the bathroom and started the shiplap
wall behind the vanity.As we got closer to the bottom of the
wall, I had my son pre-paint the
planks that were going behind the toilet.
I'm about to do this project, and I was going to leave my
walls tan behind the
planks and also cut the wood
so they sit behind the outlet covers, but you've changed my mind!
Now I have always loved
plank walls, The Lettered Cottage has them throughout their house and I've always thought they added
so much character.
I love that idea,
so much that I have that exact thing in my dining room (white
plank wall and everything!).
So one night I was perusing Pinterest and found a picture of a beautiful
plank wall in a new house.
I will re-paint the area before we sell
so it looks fresh and new, but I would
plank and paint the
walls again without a doubt.

so it's really not any different than if you added wood
planks and 2 × 4 studs to the outside of a drywalled
wall.
In contrast to the more smooth
wall planks, the ceiling
planks have all sorts of natural knots and gauges
so it gives the room lots of character without feeling overwhelming.
In order to keep it from looking like a giant altar on the
wall, we installed wood
planks behind it, stained a medium / dark tone,
so your eye is drawn to the wood rather than the TV.
So, I love kitchen # 1 for you, I think adding the
wall planks and taking the cabinets up on # 1 would give it that extra «something special» oh, and of course the horse, I like the horse.
The tongue / groove
planks set a more casual standard for our home, while the dark accent
wall color dresses up the foyer ever
so slightly.
So I mixed up some Trophy as stain and slapped it on the
plank walls.
So using the same technique we did here in the shop we put up a free
planked wall.
So I am going to do a faux
plank wall.
I'm also still dreaming of a new white
planked wall (I'm eventually planning to cover the «three window
wall» with
planks, leaving the rest of the living room / entry
walls Studio Taupe), more white wood on the ceiling and adding a new light fixture (the style of the one from Barnlight Electric above is
so lovely but I may also decide to just get a new ceiling fan — we'll see).
And it was as open a floorplan as I'd ever want (living room / dining room) and
so airy, with a host of clever features (like a two - sided cabinet that had a door in the kitchen in which to store the clean dishes and a glass door in the dining room from which you could easily set the table), but my biggest favorite were the
plank walls, nothing really, really fancy but in every room of the house and each room painted a soft pastel color.
i just cant get over how some painted wooden
planks across a
wall can make a room feel
so gorgeously cottage - y and cosy and add soooo much character!!
So with the white upper cabinets, white
plank walls and white subway tile, essentially our kitchen work area feels quite light and white, even with the gray cabinets and some soft gray
walls.
The
planks are only about 1/4 ″ thick,
so I think they'd work great on
walls that have casing and molding you don't want to take off!
Oh, and we've decided that we will
plank the
wall on the far left one day, too, since everything else is
so symmetrical.
Well we are now going to put up old barn siding on the
walls and looking for a cealing to match
so our choices are wood
planking like you have or old barn tin roof haven't decided yet.
When installing the wood
planks, you need to locate where the studs are in the
wall so you will be able to nail in to them.
Most of the wooden shiplap
walls she liked were over a fireplace mantel, but there isn't a fireplace in their house...
so we faked it and made a TV
wall accent
plank strip thingy (I'm pretty sure that's the official name).
So while it looks overly white to me right now, I keep reminding myself that we still have to add the beams and metal ceiling in the living room, the
planked wall behind the fireplace, a wood ceiling in the kitchen, industrial metal railing, green cabinets and, of course, furniture and decor.
I'm a sucker for reclaimed wood and
planked walls,
so there was no chance I was passing this kitchen up.
So after we finished the gorgeous
plank walls and brought in some new furniture, here's what the room looked like:
We lined up our
planks with the back
wall planks so they would meet in the corners.

so well with the AMAZING

I was
so excited to start hanging the wood
plank wall which was a little bit harder than we expected (the wood was a little flimsy and fragile) but how it turned out was absolutely beautiful!!
