We planked the walls in the dining room when the wallpaper wouldn't come off, but with the master bedroom, we decided to paint over the wallpaper above the chair rail.

we have just built our house & we're almost at second fix carpentry stage and i had originally planned on a salvaged brick
wall but i have that
in our
dining room and it was workin out too expensive, so then i thought vertical
planks but i much rather the horizontal
planks now since seeing them on your blog - thank you for the wonderful inspiration.
We also are adding a
planked wall to our
dining room to cover up the doorbell niche (my apologies to anyone who loved that niche) and my newly relocated office
in the lower level will be getting a brand new
wall and door to make it an official
room.
I love that idea, so much that I have that exact thing
in my
dining room (white

And it was as open a floorplan as I'd ever want (living
room /
dining room) and so airy, with a host of clever features (like a two - sided cabinet that had a door
in the kitchen
in which to store the clean dishes and a glass door
in the
dining room from which you could easily set the table), but my biggest favorite were the
plank walls, nothing really, really fancy but
in every
room of the house and each
room painted a soft pastel color.
Hardwood flooring (that matches the flooring
in your
dining room) and v - groove

in the SL inspiration photo will instantly change the entire look and feel of the
room.
Then all the
planked white
walls in the kitchen and
dining room looked off, so everything got a fresh coat of paint.
