What lumber did you
use for your
plank wall?
Use a polyuerthane - based glue (try Gorilla Glue) to attach rocks to old drawer knobs, then screw the knobs into a
plank of wood and mount it on a
wall at eye - level in an entryway.

I also
used barnwood - looking vinyl
planks over the floor tile and caulked the edge where it met the tub /
wall.
Would it be possible to push the billy's back to the
wall without
planking,
use the carcass, remove the backing, and customize shelves to fit inside the billy that go around the studs?
The idea of
using planks on
walls appeals to me but would have to convince hubs.
In addition to
using all Diane's killer «stuff», some of our other plans for the place include cladding the focal
wall in the living room with wood
planks, creating a
wall full of words in the master bedroom, and hanging a giant wood seahorse on the
wall middle bath.

I like how the designer

Just found an idea that slapped my
plank wall in the financial face
using 4X8 utility plywood and cutting it down into
planks using a table saw.
So
using the same technique we did here in the shop we put up a free
planked wall.
(Don't worry - we'll
use a piece of trim in the corner where the Blue Hubbard
wall meets the
planked wall.)
Once all the
planks are up, we'll re-attach the crown molding and baseboard cap molding, and then
use some kind of trim down the sides of the
walls to finish everything off, nice and neat.

For this
wall we
used shorter and a few random length
planks (they do not have a groove) and staggered them for an older look (at least in our minds it feels older).
We have wood
planks, too, but on the
walls we
used the hardiplank for durability.
Most bloggers I read are
planking walls with lumber (
using spacers) and calling it shiplap when it really isn't.
I am starting to encloGraduate Degree, Museum Science and Entomologyse our garage and I am
using your wonderful ideas on
plank walls and colors (white with pops of red and vintage greens / teal).
If you want a gap between your
planks, just
use a nickel to create that space while nailing the
planks to the
wall.
Not to mention, an old chandelier of my kitchen table,
plank / bead board bath room
walls, pieces of furniture being
used as sink bases in both of our bathrooms, and wood floors are the things I desire to do this year.

Narrow -
plank beaded board is
used on the lower portion of these
walls.
Not wanting to ding the pink
planked wall too much, I
used Command Strips to stick»em to the
wall.

wall turned out... so I decided my next big project would be to create a
planked ceiling from the same, wider
planks I
used for the guest room
wall.
BTW, we
used your
planked wall tutorial from your daughters» room to
plank our bar and ends of our lower cabinets.
Before attaching each one to the
wall I made sure there was a thin gap between each one by
using a quarter (coin) to put between the
planks to give them that 1/16 ″ space that gives that same look as shiplap.Then I filled all the nail holes, sanded, and painted.
Once Robert built the
wall, John added
planks using 1 X 4's for architectural interest.
My husband and I are getting ready to do
planked walls in our powder room... what did you

Our contractor installed and made the wardrobes look more built - in with the addition of crown molding and shiplap
using the same 8 ″ pine
planks we
used on the entry
wall.
Each
plank already has tongue and groove so they fit nicely together, and all you have to do is locate the studs in the
wall of the closet, then nail those
planks into the studs (I
used my electric brad nailer) making sure each one was level.
