We just did wood
planked walls in our kitchen, that I painted yellow with some gray to tone it down a bit.
We are contemplating
planking the walls in our kitchen as well.

The cabinets and
the plank wall in the kitchen, as well as the trim throughout are cream (Sherwin Williams Summer White) and the opposite wall with the blue hutch and desk is yellow (Behr Charismatic).

We are just completing a renovation
in a new to us home
in the mountains and
in the great room /
kitchen / main floor we have medium hickory distressed wide
plank floors, BM seashell paint on
walls, white cabinets
in kitchen, lots of wood antique furniture and several rustic wood pieces, and white / natural slipcovered sofa and chairs.
I would like to create the
plank walls in the living room and
kitchen.
While most of my cabinets were finally painted right before Christmas (along with my family room
walls and trim and part of the horizontal
planking in my little hall) my one «open cabinet»
in the
kitchen was not able to be painted as it had to have some finishing work done on the inside of it first.
We're not
in it yet, because we're totally gutting it — taking down
walls, new
kitchen, new master bedroom / bathroom addition, replacing all interior woodwork (including doors and closet doors and closet interiors),
planking ceilings, new flooring, and replacing windows.
And it was as open a floorplan as I'd ever want (living room / dining room) and so airy, with a host of clever features (like a two - sided cabinet that had a door
in the
kitchen in which to store the clean dishes and a glass door
in the dining room from which you could easily set the table), but my biggest favorite were the
plank walls, nothing really, really fancy but
in every room of the house and each room painted a soft pastel color.
Love the horizontal
in kitchen and, if adding built -
ins on long
wall in living, think the vertical
planks would work well there.
Not to mention, an old chandelier of my
kitchen table,
plank / bead board bath room
walls, pieces of furniture being used as sink bases
in both of our bathrooms, and wood floors are the things I desire to do this year.
So while it looks overly white to me right now, I keep reminding myself that we still have to add the beams and metal ceiling
in the living room, the
planked wall behind the fireplace, a wood ceiling
in the
kitchen, industrial metal railing, green cabinets and, of course, furniture and decor.
Then all the
planked white
walls in the
kitchen and dining room looked off, so everything got a fresh coat of paint.
We
planked and painted the
walls in our
kitchen and dining, and they are fantastic.
