If teams want to
play from the back like Chelsea and Manchester city do then YES.

Not with the general premise that he could do with a rest after looking a bit jaded in the last few games since coming

Bottom line, if he is angered bench the players who were not good enough and
play those who deserve some game time based on the Southampton game or on games where they had a positive impact: - Take Özil out and
play Ox in the hole (he has to understand your the highest paid player of the club, your given freedom
like nobody else and your even seeking even more money with a new contract you can't
play like that ever and go AWOL)- Put Sanchez on the wing or up top but put Welbeck in (Walcott didn't track
back near enough for the Alsonso goal)- Iwobi has been bright
from the wing let him
play there - Xhaka has to go
back in the holding midfield role and I would take out Coquelin because he could've taken a foul on the hazard's goal.

It's difficult to blame Ozil for the difficulties he's faced at Arsenal without looking at the big picture...
like the fans, he too was lied to by Wenger... there is no doubt in my mind that he was told by Wenger that he was trying desperately to recreate our earlier success by acquiring players that fit the system he ran when Henry was in his prime... as we know this hasn't happened... in order for Ozl to flourish he needs some speed up front, forwards that can make intelligent runs, a boss in the midfield to compensate for his obvious defensive liabilities and defenders who can transition
from defence to offence quickly and efficiently... much
like he had in Real and with the German National squad... unfortunately he ended up on a squad that has a striker who
plays with his
back to goal, very few intelligent runs into the box, minus Sanchez, no one to take pressure off him in the midfield, once Cazorla was injured, average defensive midfielders around him, which simply highlighted his lacking defensive qualities and defenders who lack the necessary cutting edge when it comes to transitional passing... instead of blaming Ozil, which is simply too easy, especially considering his mopey disposition, we should be asking ownership and / or Wenger why they brought him in if they didn't intend on doing what was necessary to get the best
from him... can you imagine Ozil
playing with the
likes of Henry, Viera, Petit and Pires, it would be incredibly to watch and even more difficult to stop... so the only thing different between his experiences in Real and with the German team versus his time at Arsenal are the players around him and we all know who is in charge of making those decisions, the Grinch who stole soccer
When you are
playing football and you got a high ball to control the slightest touch will push you off it for sure eguaro pushed mustafi but mustafi should have stock his leg out to bring him down or elbowed him in the face well i would have done that Arsenal were not hungry enough for the cup if they were we would have seen some blood running down of some Manchester players Arsenal need to defend in packs of wolves The first half was not to bad we should have scored though but yes no
back bone no hunger and no fight What is going to happen on Thursday how are we going to line up against them??? I need to see Arsenal fight

Of course, losing wingers Robben and Ribery will have forced his hand slightly here, but it still shows a lack of a Plan B that Pep couldn't bring out a similar threat
from other players
like Gotze and Muller, who can both
play wide, or indeed use Lahm in his preferred position of right -
back and utilise his quality
from there — in fact, the former Germany captain's use as a midfielder since this manager's arrival is one of many examples of his attempts at tactical innovation going wrong.

Oh, and you need to see him, Thomas Davis, a 10 - year NFL vet, the only player to ever come

from the sideline.

This article I read on bleacherreport sums up what a fan who wants the club success would
like to see
from than onwards: - Beat Bayern and progress above our mental block - Make top four and possibly as good as last season finishing # 2 likely getting positive result in our 5 most difficult fixtures (Spurs, Man U, Man City, Everton, Liverpool) & taking
back some lost points - Ensuring we finish above any team in London except Chelsea of course - Win FA Cup best chance of silverware - Win UCL long reach but beating Bayern could spur the team and maybe make them believe coupled with
playing any team except Barca, Real & Atletico in the round after and could we do a Chelsea 2012.
Stuff
like smoke screens (WR takes one step forward then one step
back to catch the ball while his blockers lead up in front of him), or really any kind of screens, counter
plays (where you pull the offensive guard and tackle
from one side of the center to the other side of the center) and any number of sweep
plays (runs designed to get wide outside of the offensive tackle).
On the other hand you have a few

The team that wins will start to gain
back a little respect
from the NFL community at large, and the loser will have to take a long look in the mirror and decide whether it wants to, or can,

In the midfield, (including RWB & LWB) we have a whole bunch of tweeners... none offer the full package, none make sense in our manager's current favourite formation, except for Sead on the left and Ox on the right, and all of them have never shown any consistency for more than a heartbeat... Sead, who I'm including in this category because of our present formation, looks
like a positive addition, minus his occasional brain farts, but I would rather see what he could do in a
back 4 before making my mind up... Ox, who has never
played better, which isn't saying much considering his largely underwhelming
play in previous seasons, seems to have found a home in this new formation; unfortunately, can we really expect this oft - injured player to handle the taxing duties that come with said position over the long haul, not to mention, it looks
like he has no intention of staying... Ramsey has relied on the empathy that stems
from his gruesome injury years ago and the excitement that was generated a few years
back when he finally seemed to put in altogether, but on the whole he has been a big disappointment (neither he nor the Ox have scored enough to warrant a regular spot)... Wiltshire should be put on a weekly contract then
played until he suffers his first injury, if and when that occurs he should be shipped - out and no one should very be allowed to say his name on club grounds ever again... Elnehy & Coq are average players who couldn't make any of the top 7 teams currently in the EPL... both have showed some great energy on the pitch, but neither are top quality and no good team can afford to have that many average players on their bench
playing the same position, especially with Coq's injury history / discipline concerns and Elheny's headless chicken tendencies... as for Xhaka, his tenure here so far has been incredibly underwhelming... we know he has some skills to provide the long ball but his defensive work is piss poor and he gives the ball away too cheaply and far too often... finally, the enigma himself, Ozil, so much skill with his left foot but his presence has been more frustrating than uplifting... in many respects his failure has been directly related to the failure of this club to provide him with the necessary players up front, minus Sanchez of course, and unless something drastic happens very soon his legacy will be largely a negative one (much
like Wenger's)
I agree that it seems they are told not to shoot
from more than 10 yards, they must not ever cross a ball into the box and must pass
back to the keeper at every opportunity but are they told to
play school playground football
like 7 year olds where 6 players go for the same ball?
That ball just did not seem to go into the
back of the net, we had several shot ON GOAL, but their keeper
played out of his skin, just
like de Gea
from United and several other teams we have drawn to this season.
See how poor nacho monreal was today yet people never criticize him.Gibbs should start over him next week.Yet people would say things
like Gibbs is shit despite him being very consistent for arsenal. The only problem to me with Gibbs is that sometimes in some matches he gets caught out too much apart
from that he is a better left
back than Monreal and when both are at full pelt Gibbs is still better.I just do nt get it i watch the two of them
play and i do nt know what makes Monreal better than him.
Back to defense I
like Louis Gaya
from Valencia, young and
plays LB or LW.
I would
like him to
play a third [game after coming
back from injury] because he is a very important player in our squad, and ideally he will be available tomorrow.
But if he
plays for us
from behind,
like a DM, he would be naturally compelled to give the ball out quickly enough and initiate attack swiftly
from the
back.
Our 3
back is just so wrong. We don't have natural wingbacks even in this formation. It also seems to me that lots of people here believe if you're good at right or left fullback then automatically you're good at RWB / LWB which quite frankly is untrue. That's why Oxlade Chamberlain can be considered at RWB but not right
back.At RWB or LWB you're asking too much in terms of attack
from Bellerin and Kolasinac.A proper wing
back can be viewed as a more defensive winger which quite frankly none of them are and they don't possess the flexibility too to
play that way.Our midfielders are also not disciplined enough because in 3
back there's a huge gap in the centre of the field that must be covered by our CM's so indiscipline only means disaster. We also have Ozil who looks
like he's
playing at RW in 3
back.In that we're limiting his impact because Ozil takes on his man because he wants to not because he
likes to.You can't
play such players at the wing. He's a proper No. 10 who
likes to be given freedom. That's why Ozil
plays likes he's lazy on the ball and stuff. It's because he wants to be free and for that you need to put him at No. 10.
Players
like Ramsey, Flamini, Coquelin and even Elneny have a serious inability of starting
play from the
back and building our game.
(if he can't get
back because he's «injured» then surely he doesn't take off
like that...) 76:46 Nouhou skies his attempt on goal 76:50 (at the earliest) ball is put
back in

played from the SKC defense down Nouhou's side
There were several guys that didn't
play because they were nicked up or recovering
from surgery or the
like including Gallaspy and Person
from the backfield, Frazier and Bryant on the D - line, Kishawn Miller and Freddie Phillips
from the d -
backs, Payton Wilson and Brock Miller at LB, and several others
from the deeper parts of the roster.
Deny it all you want but since Fabregas left Arsenal our frre flowing football has really declined. It feels
like am the only one who thinks we lack real penetration and ideas in the final third of opponents. Also in 14/15 sesson I lost count of our misplaced passes and poor gameplay overall. We've been very very poor in our passing game for some seasons now.For a game
like this to work you need players whonhold the ball very well and are possession efficient.Look at the Arsenal starting lineup and compare it to that of years
back and you'll know what I mean.We have very few possession efficient players which is causing this problem. We don't have many players who can actually hold the ball and
play the ball. That's what differentiates us
from the top passing teams.
If there are more players
like him, especially in the defensive line, Arsenal can build the attack
from the
back and
play more fluid passing game,
like the other top European teams do.
I do quite
like the look of this Arsenal team, with a strong
back three to give the others a platform to
play from, and with some real flair in the
likes of Wilshere, heaps of promise in Nelson and proven scoring ability in Giroud and Walcott.
I've been watching the boys
from the sidelines for what seems
like an eternity now because I'd been out for so long, but to be
back on the pitch and
playing with the boys has been a long time coming and I'm just enjoying every moment of that now.»
The Arsenal
played well we had over 70 % position of the ball with something
like 27 attacks were 8 were on target burnly had a game plan and that game plan was about hurting our players ankles and they got away scot free with it yet xaka gets red?????? Yes they were diddling about when that happened but compare it to the challenge on ozil and he was on goal yes koscienly came
back from an offside position but the high boot on the head was dangerous I thought Arsenal
played well and controlled the game well even when we were put under pressure in our own half when you look at the penalty awarded to them you will see a dive as coquelin barely touched him how many time did they push kosscielny of the ball???? hope he is ok as he was looking
like he had a thigh problem I
like the
back four of todays as Gabriel did ok specially when we went down to ten men >> > I salute our Arsenal for wining the game on the 97 minit with only 10 men on the field What an iced cold penalty scored by Alexis
He knows he wouldn't last long in a team that can not build the attack
from the
back, can not possess the ball too long, has kick - rush style and always make long kicks
from the goal instead of
playing the opponent's attackers with passing game,
like Arsenal.
what i know is that the journey of 2 years has started already... if he
likes play petr cech as left
back and convert elneny to a goal keeper he has lost his legacy and respect
from a fan
like me.
But while Guerreiro will be
playing for his country this summer it looks
like the current Arsenal left
back Kieran Gibbs will be watching the international tournament
from home after he was left out of the latest England squad by Roy Hodgson.
the
likes of neista David Silva our own ozil they don't defend but rather tack
back to slot in the defensive line for the real defenders to do their job.have u all take note that ozil don't normally jump for headers in the heart of the midfield.so all I'm saying is if Chamberlain do nt want to defend yo make that position his then he should trying
playing in the attacking position as he did excel there when he was
played against Bayern last year or he is out
from arsenal.
He didn't ever try to be clever
like Bellierin, Holding or Chambers and bring the ball down, make a ridiculous
play or pass
from the
back and get caught.
I thought people here were debating about two or three seasons
back why he should be our top striker. When I thought the Monaco match was the icing on the cake to show how average he was it seems just
like Wenger we» will never learn our lesson. Now people our okay with him being a super sub which is debatable.Giroud was a super sub in games last season because he wasn't
played when he was supposed to.He's not your ideal super sub because he very hardly creates but rather requires people to create for him. Most of the time super subs are the one's who tend to create the chances and open up spaces in the opposition defence.West ham are ready to pay and hence we should demand more
from them.We can then use the money
from his sale on far better players.Given the same seasons, time and chances a lot of average strikers can do better than what he did. This is because Arsenal create a lot of chances and it just needs someone who can finish.Goodbye!.
I never felt
like we should have
played such a defensive game and try hit them on the break, especially when the only quick player we have to counter has just got
back from injury.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of
play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and
play» mentality where players
play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly
from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the
backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance
play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball...
from our
backs out wide, we've seen pace
from the
likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted
play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was
playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I
like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing -
back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched
played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball
play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he
played with Coq Wenger always seemed to
play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act
like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he
like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been
played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a
back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing -
back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is
like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Would love us to sign either Danilo Pereira / Nzonzi / Carvalho / Romeu / Doucoure / Gueye however I am bracing myself for the following nonsense
from AW: Wilshere is
back he is
like a new signing We have Ramsey and Xhaka Willock and Maitland - Niles can
play CM as well
