Some of the friends that I
played with in the multiplayer mode skipped the
tutorial levels, and struggled to enjoy their first session as a result.

There are something like 10
levels but are meant to be
tutorials, and the meat of the game is
playing against other players locally, online (however, I have no idea how active it is anymore considering it was never that active when it launched), or against CPU teams.
After completing the
tutorial (which does a capable if not entirely complete job of explaining the mechanics to you) your main avenue of
play will come through the season ladder which will have you climbing the ranks, competing with players at your current division
level (from bronze to s - rank), until you reach the height of your capabilities.

play 1v1 skirmish against the AI.

playing, EA has updated their
tutorials with a Hockey Canada themed set of video instructions.
From our Steam leaderboards, we discovered that out of all people who finished the
tutorial, half of them stopped
playing after the third
level.

level up your power and it means that at the end of it (which I haven't finished yet) you will be at a similar
level to all the other recent graduates and won't feel underpowered going into the PVP arenas or PVE missions.
The game does have a
tutorial mode for first time players, and it's well worth a
play to get to grips with everything from the very basics to the more high -
level skills that could prove to win you a match if utilised properly.

levels with confidence, racking up points and dispatching enemies with finesse.
