Look
at MC, they had missed a 6 mil
player, Victor Kompany more than they would have liked and you couldn't really say that they had not tried to find quality cover / starter for this
position given that they had spend 30 million plus on what initially looks like two top centre backs the last two seasons.
we cant accommodate him
at wrong
positions at the expense of pleasing him while
giving away points... its clear that we have faired so well in games where Wilshire and Ramsey have been out injured.sorry but it's true.when fit they are played
at wrong
positions while inform
players are benched
There is no need to gamble
at time of the league, let
give Maitland - Niles a chance and i know he will perform well in that
position than other crop of
players for that
position.
In all honesty Arsenal played well we had very good
position with loads of chances and 13 corner kicks how come we are so crappy
at scoring corners???? We need to start scoring the chances we get from corners we could have easily beat southhampton by 4 goals but forster was good he got the 3 points off us MR wenger should go back to the drawing board as he has some options one of witch could the calling of welington silva or a reshuffle bring iwobi in elneny or new methods in tactics as in picking
players and rehearse attacks strategy As for the referee I to felt done by him there was on particular foul on sanches that was not
giving at the end we need to register our efforts and be clinical
Well I would certainly look
at giving as many of the fit
players a start aa possible across the two matches against Bournemouth and Koln and preferably in their correct
positions.
the interlude
gave players a break away from the pressure cooker environs of the EPL, the managers few days to reassess the
positions of their clubs on the table and take stock of what has been a topsy turvy season and it also
gave fans a few days to really look
at things from a different angle... we still have a slim chance of winning the title, so Watford are in for a beating tomorrow no doubt.....
But welback said that he is a cf that why he left manu because he was not
given a chance
at cf.plus i do nt think it fair to have
players who know that
at arsenal there are
players who own
positions (giroud)
How come we all know how to fix the problem, yet Wenger doesn't as for Boulds the defensive coach he has nothing on Pat rice for tactics the problem is the people that coach and select
players only select for that
position not on who best to win the game, same ol same ol looking
at the squad now apart from Sanches who would you buy from Arsenal that would better your team come on
give me your list.
Given, that all chances of a major trophy more or less are gone, star
players with unresolved contracts, motivation and confidence
at a very low point and a manager in a very shaky
position, the ingredients for more disasters are there.
If the guy they would get
at # 1 is there for them
at # 5, grab him, otherwise I agree with you, get one of the other elite
players at their
position and
give Keenum his shot.
Theo is better than you
gave him credit for yet I do recognize Theo isn't the next TH14 which he was claimed to be, there are reasons why he performed
at a lower level this season... most
players do when they are played out of
position.
Elneny is a good bench option. He should not be sold.We just needhim for rotation and it's likely he'll accept that.I just don't really see anything about Xhaka. If only Maitland - Niles was
given his chance he would've improved
at his
position so much better. We're wasting the guy because of an average
player.
Also I haven't seen figures on Leicesters spending in 2015 buy my guess is that it was quite a bit higher than previous seasons
give the number of
players they brought in... some
at bargain rates with hindsight... Wenger should be investing relative to clubs

I know joel is not liked by many, but he hasn't been
given anywhere near a fair run, and his
position ing around the box
at the end was better than the clump of
players we have who try to pass through a solod defence.
why was Sanchez truly playing... no one believes he was too injured to play to start the season, and some like myself would go as far to suggest he wasn't injured
at all... so why play him... they can't say it was to appease the fans because when was that ever a factor
at this club except when «panic buys» were in the offing... I believe that this was to
give Arsenal a little leverage when it comes to negotiating his transfer... just imagine their horrible bargaining
position if Sanchez never saw the field before the deadline then heading back to South America and played for Chile... regardless of the facts, this was sadly again another example of a team putting business ahead of fielding a team with the greatest chance to secure 3 points... of course, some will say that Sanchez is, or was, our best
player, so obviously he's a no - brainer to start, but those who really watch the game know that his heart hasn't been truly in it for quite some time... even
at the end of last season you could see a definitive difference between the Sanchez who played for Chile and the one that played for Arsenal... that being said, 70 % of Sanchez is still better than a 100 % of the vast majority of our remaining roster... shame on you Arsene and shame on you too Sanchez for that telling smirk... I've supported your attempt to push this squad to the next level but don't pretend for a second that you didn't know you were being watched... don't lower your standards or you'll end up like this club, on the outside looking in
Don't tell us your targets (if you have any) but
give us an idea of what
positions you are looking
at or how many
players you are looking to add, like every other manager.
Of course Leicester are in a great
position at the moment, and the 5 points lead
at the top «obviously»
gives them a cushion / comfort zone, which could also be their downfall, If
player's become overconfident and arrogant by taking their foot off the Gas!..
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where
players play out of
position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look
at our current
players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system...
at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying
position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide
positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these
players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long,
gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless
at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive
players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a
player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of
position far too many times since arriving and that the
players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this
player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3
players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back
position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill
players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense
given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will
give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a
player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and,
at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6
players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Times are changing, we can sign top
players now, which means
players need to
give 110 % if they want
position is starting line up, look
at cazorla, last season his defending was abysmal, but he hit ground and he is now great, fight for places are great, ask szczhesny, walcott is behind ox, and not to mention sanchez, so he have 1 year to start playing or he will be goer!!!
This is a big club and we need every
player to excel
at his
position when
given a run or else someone else should come and take over.
I hope Xhaka is benched for yhis game. If's funny how people can ever think for a moment that Xhaka is better than Wilshere.Wilsherefor all his injuries and unrealised potential is twice the
player Xhaka is and a level above Ramsey in technique, talent and ability.I didn't like how people used the Europa league maych to judgr him
at all after he had shown world class performances in previous matches.I just don't get why people love Xhaka.People call Coquelin average but if played in his actual
position and not this box - to - box or whatever he will defend brillianly and
give it to his more reliable partner which quite unfortunately we don't havd
at the moment.
Wenger put ozil on the wing for his development one thing i do nt get is how the fans do nt see that Wenger done the same process with Wilshere, I remember when Monreal was caught out
at the back post from a set piece and ozil did nt cover he just jogged abit n let monreal get beat, that would be video evidence for Ozil to learn and work on his duty to defend instead of
giving him Candy like a baby n letting him be lazy in the middle not tracking back for the team its a learning process im 100 % Wenger knows ozils best
position is in the centre he followed him since Shalke its obvious but Wenger develops
players into world class after seeing Ozil in the world cup and coming back after the world cup i coud see he defended alot more helping out monreal on the flanks and putting in alot more effort only then once hes showed his duty in defending will he be
given his free role in the middle.
even when he suffered a serious knee injury, instead of accepting the fact that he would never stick his legs into the spaces that were crucial for someone with straight ahead speed to succeed, the club actually contemplated
giving him a chance to play up top where his lack of physicality, size and holding up play talents would been on display for all to see... these are not the actions of a club that really cares about winning
at the highest levels, but they are the actions of a club that wasn't interested in spending the necessary resources to purchases a world - class striker, which is usually the most expensive
position on the pitch... instead we adopted the horrible phrase «like a new signing» and proceeded to allow this ridiculous experiment to carry on, which ultimately caused some discomfort on the training pitch and inside the locker room as
players battled for a
position that shouldn't have been theirs for the taking in the first place... don't get me wrong, I believe that Walcott is a talented
player, who can help a team reach their goals, if their goals are relatively modest... just look
at the teams who supposedly expressed interest in his services and they weren't the kind of clubs who aspire to win
at the highest levels... as for the reasons why he hasn't been bitching and moaning about moving on just look
at the wage benefits he receives from our club and his obvious desire to enjoy the societal advantages that come with playing in North London for a club with worldwide appeal... so instead of continuing to try to fix a coat with a broken zipper simply move on and buy a new and better coat
people are pointing out that is Kroenke's fault but the reality is Koroenke did not buy yaya Sanogo, Kallstrom, Park Yung and last year Takuma Assano (loaned to germany) to mention few of the average
players got in transfers.Kroenke
gave 100 million last summer so why not going for Abumayang
at that time for 60 - 70 millions or Lacaztte (40 — 50 reports in Spain indicate he's going to Atletico) and another 30 - 40 millions for DM (we got Xhaka but i believe next season the guy will be much better) so the lack of reinforcing the Key
positions needed is his fault.
You don't always have to sign
players because you're lacking in that
position, but because they
give the team something new and prevent it from going stale — just look
at Man City's team.
I hate to say it but Monreal has become a much better
player after being put as a CB, his interceptions are better than before and timing of tackles is better... guessing his time
at CB actually
gave him experience
at defending which being a LB didn't quite cover and he has improved from experience in a alt
position... an EDUACATION YOU MUPPET.
If I m Wenger and smart enough then I will go in january window and sign two decent
players not cup tied for CB and DM
position... Because we are
given luck to face Monaco and advance to quarters so I will sign for CB Reid / Van dijk and I will cleverly approach for vertonghen to check the state of mind of spuds by bidding 12 - 15 million if they sell good just like sol campbell to troll them every time and if not no need to worry we will get reid or van dijk for cheap
at 8 - 10 million and then I will sign schneiderlin or Wanyama because they are not cup tied and will be eager to compete in champions league..
But
at least the Frenchman decided to bring back our former
player Mathieu Flamini on a free transfer last summer to
give us another option in that
position.
Stats don't
give you all the details you need... For example: there was a time
at that westham game that Ozil find himself in a better
position to score right inside the box with no defender maulding him but he decided to pass the ball down to Ramsey who is outside the box... Sometimes Ozil find himself in a better
position than the
player he passes to... Stats will never bring that out... Ozil is just another Hleb with creating chances and no goals... I even prefer Hleb cuz he is a treat in every big games and a nightmare to defenders... Stop covering up Ozil and talk football the way it is.
Forget Alex, where does it leave Danny?!?! All jokes aside Wenger is too stubborn and faithful to
give up that early on a
player, he'll probably just interchange them out of
position, maybe both
at the same time and
give AMN a run out up top we never know
With or without Koscielny, we should be playing our best
players available and in their respective
positions to
give us a chance
at fighting.
A
player will not change our fortunes — we have enough quality in the team if the manager does not force people to play out of their
positions and if the
players do their job — Next match Arsenal should just focus on shutting shop
at Liverpool and go for a cleansheet — the midfield needs to be told to focus on disrupting more and just
give the ball to ozil / Sanchez — just sit back and stop attacks.
It's an interesting point to make, and
given our strength
at other
positions, it looks weaker by comparison, but I'm starting to see people argue that we are a
player away from a national championship.
It's less common for
players to sign early extensions, and generally only works when a team has a surplus of talent
at a
given position.
This is the one
player I feel sorry for in the Arsena teaml.Just because he's defensively solid doesn't mean he'll be solid being played out of
position. The guy is not a RB, RWB and CB.He's a CM for crying out loud.I wonder if he's ever played RB, RWB or CB for the academy. Most times when I watch him he's either a CM or a winger.I just don't get this bizarre roles he's being
given in the team. It's killing his confidence.Wenger must stop treating him this way. It's preseason so I thought he'd rather get the chance to
at least play in his favourite
position.
It's the fans that keep sacrificing because this team can't get their head out of their own ass... please
give me some examples when a top club ever let their best
player leave for free
at the end of a season... Wenger needs to go to PSG and get some money and talent for Sanchez so that we can end this nonsense once and for all... then he needs to publicly apologize for the way in which they handled the whole situation... if they allow Sanchez to go for free there is no way this club, under the tutelage of Kroenke and Wenger, will ever layout the necessary coin to replace such a talented
player, especially considering that Wenger will be a lame - duck manager once again in the final year of his contract and we know how well that went last year... open your eyes people, Wenger has spoken publicly about how he hopes that the next manager can take this club to the next level... WHAT?!?... he then went on to speak about leaving them in the perfect
position to be successful, which is one of the reasons why several pundits felt Wenger would leave after last season based on the financials and the fact that so many
players had only one year left on their respective contracts... who says this shit??? If you believe you're leaving things in the best possible shape for your potential successor to achieve greatness it raises a couple of serious questions: Why can't you take things to the next level if everything is as great as you say?
The fifth richest club in the world should be able to
give us
at least one thirty million plus
player and bring Arsenal into the top three
position in January.
The squad needs
at least two top - quality
players in this
position and the Frenchman needs to be
given competition.
I'm all for
giving young
players a chance. He has had plenty of opportunities and you answered your own question as to what
position he is actually any good
at.There is none.He is NOT the quality required and anyone who believes otherwise can go watch Iwobi
at Orient as that's the level he will be playing
at in a few seasons
«We are (in a stronger
position now) because today I feel we can
give financial satisfaction and support ambitions and values that can make the
players happy
at this club.
A lot of people won't see it but I believe if Maitland - Niles was
given his chance
at CM (which is his proper
position) he'd do better than those who play there. It's just Wenger who has misued the guy.Out of all our youngsters I saw him as the one close to being world class due to the maturity he shows on the ball. He's a
player who is very ready for the Arsenal team and I believe he should be
given his chance
at CM no matter who comes. He's very good but shame it'll take us a long time to realise this when it's too late.
Now 34, there will be speculation regarding his future, more so
given that we've added
players such as Ashley Westwood and Jack Cork for the midfield
positions since he sustained his injury and they are alongside Steven Defour and Jeff Hendrick who were already
at the club.
To call it a remarkable comeback does not
give it the proper weight, as the Rebels pulled it off with a stunning second half performance from true freshman quarterback Shea Patterson, who was once recruited as the top high school
player at his
position.
His greater value is in his
positioning though: he's good
at making himself available for a pass from the defenders (which is particularly useful with Holgate, who is brave on the ball but also has a tendency to play the first pass he sees, so having Schneiderlin as a simple option makes it less likely he
gives it away cheaply) although more useful
at distracting opposition
players, moving wider to drag them away from the middle and opening up passing lanes for the defenders to pass into the feet of Rooney and Sigurdsson, or playing one - twos with Gueye so the Senegalese has space on the ball and can turn, face play and stride forward without immediate pressure.
I believe the board don't
give a *** about the fans because if they does Arsene wenger should have been sacked long time ago it's obvious the french man has seen it all and have nothing new to offer the club he has passed his prime and need to resign and go take a rest the
players in arsenal are just average imagine the wacott Ramsey chamberlain all is championship materials and not premiership for arsenal to revitalise they need to buy
players great
players at such except that I'm afraid we wl keep having the same result and be content with 4th
position year in year out.
This game
gives Barcelona a chance to not only keep their
position at top of the table but actually stretch the lead for atleast 24 hours as Real Madrid
player later in the weekend on Sunday night, 22 October.
It will also
give a preview into which
positions the
players will play, with both Anita and Berardi being able to play
at either fullback
position.
But three home games against top - six opposition and potentially tricky away fixtures
at Stoke and Burnley
give the
players quite a challenge in the run - in, and many will need to do so to prove their value for a
position in the squad next season.
We will simply look
at the
players in all
position groups and
give an edge to the stronger unit.
It's hard to look
at that second - string team and pick two or three
players that could push for a starting
position, which
gives Mourinho possibly a bigger headache.
