Absolut said that the game's
players take on the
role of Deadmau5 as he prepares «to go on an epic night
out.»
But blame should b put on the manager who fields
players out of position and there by weaken the team n» get far less from the team.Carzola / Ozill, Wilshere / Ramsey all play the same
roles respectively and should b used interchangably then give the left winger slot to Joel Campbell
It is the guy who feels Wilshere must be accommodated in each game as long as he is match fit, at
roles that force other
players out of their element — take a case study — Can you ask Welbeck to play in Defense?
Mourinho signs
players with an idea
of what
role they want them to fill
out in their squad in specific matches.
few weeks back there was an article on here about injured
players coming back and helping at the tail end
of the season; the article was big on Wilshire and I commented saying Welbeck will be the one I will most look
out or because he offers us something different upfront, either as a striker or on the wings, I also said Wilshire does not register on my radar not because he os not good but simply because we have better
players in his
role and he has not been missed one jot....
Bottom line, if he is angered bench the
players who were not good enough and play those who deserve some game time based on the Southampton game or on games where they had a positive impact: - Take Özil
out and play Ox in the hole (he has to understand your the highest paid
player of the club, your given freedom like nobody else and your even seeking even more money with a new contract you can't play like that ever and go AWOL)- Put Sanchez on the wing or up top but put Welbeck in (Walcott didn't track back near enough for the Alsonso goal)- Iwobi has been bright from the wing let him play there - Xhaka has to go back in the holding midfield
role and I would take
out Coquelin because he could've taken a foul on the hazard's goal.
My bet is if given a run
of games in his favorite
role Ramsey will be the stand
out player in the middle.
1) On the pitch: - we always start 3 -4-3 but always switch back to a back 4... it isn't tactical as we look bad in both - Bellerin playibg LWB when you have the best in the bundesliga last season on the bench - Welbeck playing the striker
role when he can do everything but score when you have Lacazette a record signing on the - Monreal in back 3 when you have Kostafi who can flank Per in the middle protecting him against pace as well as having a commending figure and - Telling Xhaka to not play as a 3rd offensive
player when Ramsey dashes - Playing a guy in Ox so
out of position and persisting with him over preseason as if he would be there for years when it is clear he doesn't want to play for us (his case is a weird one)
You cant escape he fact that Podolski was played rarely and when he was he was played
out of position much the same way that Wenger has assembled a squad
of players most
of which are a talented bunch, but, Wenger has failed to build a team who fit n with each other, we have a midfield that overtly populated with
players who al excel in the same
role BUT have no solid defensive midfield talent and no options in defence when
players have crap periods or are long term injury problems.
The gross mismanagement
of Arsenal during June - Aug
of this year is currently my feature case as a prototype
of the worst possible bungling
of personnel resources and mis - assignment
of employee resources to
roles (as just a few
of many possible examples, sitting Kola & Laca last match, starting Welbeck who couldn't hit the broad side
of a barn, playing Bellerin at LWB, third straight laughable team assignments in a row, seriously considering loaning
out our 2nd best center back, letting multiple key
players enter the final year
of contract, etc etc etc) imaginable.
The need for a
player of his quality and the
role in which is plays is evident in light
of Yannick Bolasie's injury, and so the Toffees will be hoping that they will come
out on top in this transfer war.
2) No leaders across the pitch: Özil for all the money is no leader but a technically gifted
player who can split a defense with an exquisite vision and pass, Sanchez for all the dribbles as the potential but is not there yet, Cazorla will never be in the conversation, Mertesacker is not fit to be one anymore, Coquelin for all the good he has done is too tender and inexperience, Giroud no WC
player to assume the
role... the only one who can seriously be a leader is Wilshere but unfortunately until he becomes consistent and set the tone with his talent and passion... 3) Mertesacker is a shell
of himself and it would be an embarrassment to see him continue to play in his current form, get Gabriel
out just for the sake
of showing anybody in this team that there's no place for under performers: we paid good money to get him so play him!
I've realised people are confusing fullback and wingback assuming them to almost be the same.A wingback can be viewed as a more defensive winger whiles a fullback is just a
player put near the sides
of the centre fullback.Their
roles are clearly very different and well defined. That's why you'll consider Ox at RWB and not RB.We need to switch back to 4 -2-3-1 to get the best
out of our
players like Ozil, Ox, Kolasinac, Bellerin and Monreal. They'll suffer a lot under 3 -4-3.
With the prices
of other strikers being as they currently are, buying in a
player who can learn the CF
role while also adding to the team from
out wide would seem the «cheaper» option compared to buying a CF who will displace Giroud or cause Wenger to go back on his word with Theo.
Several prominent
players, speaking on condition
of anonymity to ESPN, Cleveland.com and The Athletic, expressed doubt that the problems — an aging roster, defensively challenged personnel and a glut
of redundant
role players — could simply be worked
out through patience and a chance to coalesce when fully healthy.
Mertz should never have been our captain in the first place... who has ever heard
of a team that makes 11th hour transfer buys (Arteta & Mertz) then seemingly places those same individuals into prominent leadership positions from the get - go... indicative
of the problems that have permeated our clubhouse for the better part
of 7 years under the Kroenke & Wenger... what is wrong with the
players chosen and / or the management style
of Wenger that doesn't develop and / or encourage strong leadership from within... Mertz was the fine collecting lackey from year one... this is what happens when you don't get world - class
players because many times they want to have a voice on and off the pitch and this can't happen when you play for a fragile manager who has developed a coddling wage structure where everyone is rewarded for simply wearing the shirt and participating in the process... not enough balance between performance and pay, combined with the obvious favoritism shown to some
players regardless
of their glaring lack
of production... remember that Ramsey has played in positions that make no sense considering his skill - set (
out wide) and has forced other
players off the field or into equally unfamiliar positions with little or no justification (let's remember when you read articles about how Ramsey's goals this upcoming season being the potential X-factor for our success that this is the same individual who didn't score a goal until the final week last season)... this
of course is just one example
of many... before I hear another word from Mertz I want this club to address the fact that no former
player of any real consequence has any important
role in the management structure
of this club, yet several former Gunners have expressed serious interest in just such an endeavor (Henry, Viera, Adams, Bergkamp... just to name a few legends)... there is only one answer: an extremely insecure manager!!!
The issue is that Guerrero taking a bigger
role in terms
of the conditioning and exercise regiments
of the
players takes that control
out of the hands
of Belichick and his staff.
Your right and at the moment we are playing with NO DM.Xhaka is being found
out with his total lack
of defensive duties resulting in goals against due to him continually failing to track back with his man.I watched Fernandinho this evening against Bristol City and that
player epitomises the
role that he is there for.Sre you telling me these
players are not there?Over to you Sven and Raul
That's not to be condescending to the team or country at all: it's just that baseball in the country is still in the early stages
of development, and the roster was filled
out by American minor - league and
role players.
At the moment I would not need to take a gooner vote to find
out which
player would make their starting 11 in that defensive midfield
role out of him, Arteta and Flamini.
As noted by Goal.com, Mourinho was critical
of his
players again despite the victory, but Nemanja Matic was singled
out for praise as he not only continues to play a fundamental
role in midfield, but he also managed to get on the scoresheet too.
Kane is the top scorer in all competitions
out of any top flight
player, and took up the fourth striker
role as Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert dropped
out after the Liverpool man fell
out of favour with his club.
So in short, as
of now, I believe we are pretty light with
players able to play that box to box
role convincingly on consistent basis, Ramsey longterm
out injury record notwithstanding.
Our club have actively been on the look -
out for a
player to challenge the former Montpellier striker for a first - team
role at the Emirates for the upcoming season, but having failed in bids to land a number
of targets, are now claimed to be willing to offload Giroud in order to strengthen.
I think Chambers will become a regular first team
player, either in the DM
role, or even pushing Mert (too slow)
out of CB position.
Whilst many
of the
players mentioned could well be converted to such a
role — I do not see any stand -
out examples elsewhere
of anyone playing a comparable
role.
Still, with the Red Devils signing Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal this January, there may no longer be as much need for Griezmann in their attack, though both
players can play a variety
of roles either
out wide or up front.
Every
player out of the 11
players on the field has a
role to play.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety
of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style
of play has become a shadow
of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where
players play
out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current
players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid
of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly
out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs
out wide, we've seen pace from the likes
of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play
of Monreal, but none
of these
players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio
of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part
of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced
role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part
of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature
of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive
players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a
player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played
out of position far too many times since arriving and that the
players in front
of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this
player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that,
of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one
of those 3
players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one
of the most committed skill
players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already
of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs
of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a
player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack
of mobility is an albatross around the necks
of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because
of the 5 or 6
players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
I don't really get this playing a
player out of position just to hone his skills to play in a different position, play the guy in his natural position and he will learn his
role much quicker as playing as a left back or wing back is not the same as playing cm.
Wenger put ozil on the wing for his development one thing i do nt get is how the fans do nt see that Wenger done the same process with Wilshere, I remember when Monreal was caught
out at the back post from a set piece and ozil did nt cover he just jogged abit n let monreal get beat, that would be video evidence for Ozil to learn and work on his duty to defend instead
of giving him Candy like a baby n letting him be lazy in the middle not tracking back for the team its a learning process im 100 % Wenger knows ozils best position is in the centre he followed him since Shalke its obvious but Wenger develops
players into world class after seeing Ozil in the world cup and coming back after the world cup i coud see he defended alot more helping
out monreal on the flanks and putting in alot more effort only then once hes showed his duty in defending will he be given his free
role in the middle.
Playing Ramsey in the holding
role occasionally could help him develop as a B2B
player, learn what a holding CM needs by experiencing it... Wenger likes to give
players an education through experience... He put henry
out wide at Monaco, put Theo
out wide and now moving him into the middle, Ramsey played
out wide (and did at the end
of the season due to injuries) Wilshere has played
out wide...
the team has lost urgency the thing most important to the team
of highest caliber, here there is no intention to do things
of any kind only flamini intentions are clear to take
out opposition
player get his customary yellow and monreal's irritation is soon going to hit the papers.Wenger's verdict «at the moment we are a good team good
players good atmosphere and
players are slowly coming back from injury, monreal is solid CB and he has accepted his
role also flamini is taking the opponents nuts to the cleaners which is very viera like quality which i like also Diaby is ready is 2 months cause the surgeon got bored
of opening up him lost a screw inside so therefore fourth place is ours».
One
player who could be set to miss
out is Theo Walcott however, who is one
of a number
of players vying to play in attacking
roles in the squad, along with Danny Welbeck, who looks certain to go.
im happy to see chambers step into that
role if we buy a quality cb and bellerni is brought in as right back cover i think the lad has what it takes wana see wenger use more rotation from the squad this season its been said on here already its vital we use our whole squad and if wenger is not confident in our back up
players he should go
out and buy more instead
of saying hes happy with the
players he has then not using them
well i also would love to keep wilshere as he is a lovely
player and i think if he could perform upto his potential that he's the closest
player to cazorla
out there closer than isco and everybody, but i just do nt believe that he will perform, probably he will stay as a talent forever but if and thats a big if he could stay injury free, he should
role himself after cazorla, bring the ball
out of the defense with superb ball control and playing short and long passes to the attacking
players
Firmino can play in a number
of roles from
out wide in a central midfield
role as well as up front and the Figueirense
player may feel a high profile move to Liverpool could aid his push for a first Brazilian national team cap.
I really thought diaby would be up to speed by now, but so be it, Diaby should not be one counted on to make season long competition but should be us in the as one
of the
players in the 2 man Dm
role on specific matches so if we can get 10 matches
out of him i would be thankful
whatever you think
of ramsey... and in my books he is a decent b2b but certainly not top class... he is not going to control the area between edge
of box and centre line which is what all great DMs do... nor has coquelin proved that to me... he is a guttusso type
player and has improved massively in that
role... not convinced it is what will take us to challenging for titles however which is why a cavalho type DM is a needed addition especially as arteta and flamini are obviously not up to the task... but have always said that wengers job is to get best
out of ozil santi and wilshere who are the real creative world class strengths
of this squad... they need protection behind them and options in front... at moment the real worry is that wenger will continue to use mertesakher at CB and fail to bring in quality striker... so the song remains the same... without quality DM and attacking option we will be trying to retain 3rd place and reach qf
of cl
He is one
of the arsenal
players who despite being great in his own right was overshadowed by those around him... Such was the quality we had in the squad during his time... So I hope that his situation improves financislly or at the very least we offer him a some kind
of paid coaching / mentor
role at Arsenal to help him get
out of this mess...
While there are women in NBA 2K league staff
roles, such as Jazz Gaming Manager Angie Klingsieck and Pacers Gaming team president Kelly Krauskopf,
out of the
of 250
players that were interviewed, only one was a woman and she ended up not making the draft pool.
In terms
of signings: GK - in: either Pickford / Lafont
out: Ospina (don't want him to leave but it seems inevitable) RB: in: Mario Gaspar / Hugo Mallo / Karsdorp / Pereira / Cancelo,
out: Debuchy and Jenkinson CB: in: Van Dijk / Manolas / Tah / Keane,
out: Mertesacker, Gabriel (keep if we play a back 3), bring back Chambers LB: in: Mendy / Kolasinac / Bertrand,
out: Gibbs CDM: in: Nzonzi / Bakayoko / Danilo Pereira / Carvalho / Tousart / Diawara,
out: Coquelin CM: in: Isco / Jorginho / Keita / Weigl / Kovacic to play the santi
role,
out: Ramsey, Wilshere Winger: in: Lemar / Douglas Costa / Lucas / Zaha / Balde Keita - someone who can beat a
player,
out: Walcott (scored quite a few goals this year but does not impact games the way someone at their prime should) Striker: in: Lacazette,
out: Giroud (only for a good offer though, he's a decent super sub, however if Sanchez stays we may not need a first choice ST)
Alan Pardew has fallen
out with the Senegal international due to a combination
of the
player's salary demands and his irritation at having to play
out in a wide attacking
role to accommodate compatriot Papiss Cisse.
A lot
of players started
out life in very different
roles.
It's a pity really because Viera is the one ex
player who probably should have had a
role within the club to take us forwards but then with the way Wenger likes to control everything maybe he felt that Viera was being too ambitious to quickly and would force Wenger
out of the club.
Wenger has no concept
of defensive coaching — none whatsoever and frequently plays attacking
players out of position, even giving attacking midfielders the midfield anchor
role as in the case
of Arteta.
After filling the
role of a
player in Eddie, a 1996 Whoopi Goldberg comedy about NBA life, Fox stepped
out to thespian three - point range this summer in Oz, a riveting drama on HBO about a maximum - security prison.
Or more
role players off the bench to maximize the most
out of offensive situations?
For me we have 6 main issues 1 The owner 2 The manager 3 playing
players out of position 4 we need a powerful captain in the back 3 5 we need a powerful
player in the dm
role 6 expiring contracts — if a
player is not signing your best and it has to be your offer with only 9 months to go, he must be sold and replaced with someone who is as good, and really wants to play for Arsenal Football, especially if he one
