The supporting
characters, from Paul's brother Frank (Vincent D'Onofrio, «The Magnificent Seven») to the selection of
bland bad guys in the streets —
played by Jack Kesy («Baywatch»), Ian Matthews («The Captive»), Beau Knapp («Run All Night»), among others — are unmemorable as a whole.
Bell, who I've never been a fan of, isn't quite as grating as usual as her wooden «acting» is tapped to
play the film's
blandest character.
The lead in Roland Emmerich disaster pic «The Day After Tomorrow» gave him an early taste of
bland, big - budget (smash hit) spectacle, though he also auditioned to
play the title
character in «Batman Begins,» and was briefly lined up to take over the role of Peter Parker in «Spider - Man 2» when health issues / contract negotiations looked to rule out Tobey Maguire — now there's an interesting what - if scenario.
Having escaped the maze in «The Maze Runner,» now Thomas (O'Brien), Teresa (Kaya Scodelario, still
bland despite having few lines for such a major
character) and a bunch of forgettable dudes are housed in a place where the older people in charge (the leader is
played by the 67th person you call after Gary Oldman says he's not available) say they're safe and constantly call them «you kids.»
Meyer and his
character are both
bland and forgettable, and Scott
plays the same horny teenager he did in American Pie.
Winslet and Brolin are okay, but essentially pulling off more thinly written versions of
characters they've
played elsewhere, while Griffith is rather
bland.
It feels quite
bland, and the one
character I
played with (the ranger - style gun girl) felt strange, lacking weight.
But the real surprise here is that Brad Pitt is given such a
bland character to
play; he just can't flesh it out.
The
bland character designs simply forced me to focus on their abilities as opposed to their looks but it would have been nice to
play with a cool looking
character.
EDIT: I bought Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 and I didn't liked it, like the worse Megaman games its
bland and formulaic to the point only
playing as another
characters is the standout, and I think reviews agree with that statement.
Other Zelda titles I've
played, I meet maybe one or two side
characters that I really care about and the rest just feel kind of
bland.
Every episode starts with the
bland, generic
characters playing the game (actually mostly just standing around in the game) then ends with the
characters talking about how awesome the game is.
