When we

In the midfield, (including RWB & LWB) we have a whole bunch of tweeners... none offer the full package, none make sense in our manager's current favourite formation, except for Sead on the left and Ox on the right, and all of them have never shown any consistency for more than a heartbeat... Sead, who I'm including in this category because of our present formation, looks like a positive addition, minus his occasional brain farts, but I would rather see what he could do in a
back 4 before making my mind up... Ox, who has never
played better, which isn't saying much considering his largely underwhelming
play in previous seasons, seems to have found a home in this new formation; unfortunately, can we really expect this oft - injured player to handle the taxing duties that come with said position over the long haul, not to mention, it looks like he has no intention of staying... Ramsey has relied on the empathy that stems
from his gruesome injury years ago and the excitement that was generated a few years
back when he finally seemed to put in altogether, but on the whole he has been a big disappointment (neither he nor the Ox have scored enough to warrant a regular spot)... Wiltshire should be put on a weekly contract then

Elnehy & Coq are average players who couldn't make any of the top 7 teams currently in the EPL... both have showed some great energy on the pitch, but neither are top quality and no good team can afford to have that many average players on their bench

See how poor nacho monreal was today yet people never criticize him.Gibbs should start over him next week.Yet people would say things like Gibbs is shit despite him being very consistent for arsenal. The only problem to me with Gibbs is that sometimes in some matches he gets caught
out too much apart
from that he is a better left
back than Monreal and
when both are at full pelt Gibbs is still better.I just do nt get it i watch the two of them
play and i do nt know what makes Monreal better than him.
Our player of the season so far?Certainly the most consistent.JACK AND OZIL CONTRACTS - just get them signed up for F *** S SAKE.Jack doesn't want to go anywhere and Ozil will have his choice of big clubs to choose
from if allowed to be able to go on a free. How about giving
out a statement of our ambitions (yeah right) and show were prepared to pay whatever it takes (up to the point of being ridiculous) to SIGN the best and KEEP the best» These two are the best we have so get them sorted early to send
out a message of how serious we intend to be.AUBAMEYANG - So what if he has a contract. So did Sanchez.Offer the right money to Dortmund and the player and he will be ours. What is there to question over this deal?He is a proven goalscorer. We have just lost one.Get the deal done.GIROUD - Get rid of him to Dortmund if they want him either by selling or if it sweetens the deal just loan him till the end of the season. He was a
back up
when Sanchez was here and will be on the mix of
back ups if Auba signs. He has a World Cup squad to fight for just to be considered so needs to be
playing every week.We do not need him if Auba signs and would demand better than him if the deal fails to happen.Just get rid.JONNY EVANS - I'm not sure.Agree Kos needs nursing through games and we do not have consistent performers to come in if he is injured or rested mainly due to both Chambers and Holdimg not progressing through as much as we first thought and hoped for.Gooners have always been patient and supportive of the youngsters as they have come through but question marks to the whole coaching staff as to why these two seem to have stalled as much as they have done.Steve Bould - What do you do?You should be ashamed.
@brada — thanks.i thought i was insane, just thinking that thought of we missing giroud.you know arsenal believes in the fluid system of passing the ball and keeping possession but
when we
play a team that presses well and close down space, passing
out from the
back becomes difficult (for some reason, i du n no our passing has not been as fluid as the era of FAB, NASIRI, SONG ETC).
the likes of neista David Silva our own ozil they don't defend but rather tack
back to slot in the defensive line for the real defenders to do their job.have u all take note that ozil don't normally jump for headers in the heart of the midfield.so all I'm saying is if Chamberlain do nt want to defend yo make that position his then he should trying
playing in the attacking position as he did excel there
when he was
played against Bayern last year or he is
out from arsenal.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of
play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and
play» mentality where players
play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly
from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the
backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance
play quickly
out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble
when he gets overly aggressive on the ball...
from our
backs out wide, we've seen pace
from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted
play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially
when Giroud was
playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing -
back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched
played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball
play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he
played with Coq Wenger always seemed to
play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap
when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been
played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a
back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing -
back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so
when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Flamini does nt have the ability to bring d ball
out from defense to attack, he cant dictate the
play nor launch attack
from his position which is bad especially
when you compare him to the way modern defensive midfielders
plays this days... Things has evolved, good and modern coaches now prefers to have ball
playing and technical defenders, we have that in koscieny and Gabriel, also our full
backs are excellent with the ball, but Flamini is not, you can see all see how we kept on loosing possession against Liverpool.
Whether draxler or not arsenal is still a weaker team, is it something bad if we have both draxler and Sanchez in the same team fighting for places, just imagine van persie, Sanchez, ozil, carzola are in the same team, with likes of inform konsieny, mustafi, and konlansinic, and good holding midfider,... our problem with this 343 information or 3421 information apart
from Wenger
playing players
out of position we don't have a strong holdmidfider that retrieve the ball
back when we lost possession... Kant's is perfect example of that, look at the job he does at Chelsea is amazing...... without a good holding midfielder our defenders are vulnerable
Gabriels passing isn't as good as Pers, if we are to
play on the counter then having someone who can pass
out from the
back is important, how on earth are counter attacks suppose to start
when players can't pass
out the
back?
hes also incapable of bringing the ball
out from the
back because of his slowness, this marks him down in the distribution colomn, plus the fact he has no physical presence, so im not buying him having the strength to shrug off players because this doesn't happen
when he
plays.
This is 3 defenders
out of six and the only time we may have 5 in the field will be depend on the game... where we are defending a slim lead and need to shut
out an opponent (mostly that happens about 30 closing minutes in the game... The issue about Man United's LvG trial should not scare anyone
from looking at our own strengths and
playing through them — We are faster, we are younger, we are more technically adept and maybe we can implement this best... Remember guys a wingback is also a defender
when the need arises and the questions we should be asking is if Walcott, Ox, Podolski and Carzola can really learn to track
back when played in the wing
back roles...
Playing player's
out of position, not making the relevant substitutions
when it's needed and not having an alternative game plan are some of the things holding the team
back from achieving the success we all crave — EPL & UCL.
It's draining we lost to spurs but more over than anything the way we lost was embarrasseing and shocking we were
played off park most game that has concern us as fans spurs bullied us
out played us hungry in every department it's has fall with wenger
when is time
when he just accepts game has passed him matter of fact it has passed us arsenal fans aswell no control in middle very poor
from xhaka and elneny and again dembele bought mortgage in midfield he's the owner my god vieria would of knocked he's house down but look we're very poor and away
from home sad really how wenger keeps he's job is just pure stupidity but not just with today's results over all away
from home we're relegation side go get Enrique before Chelsea get him and let but of class and youth take our great club
back before Tottenham spuds leave us so far behind we won't even complete this series lack lustrous club
What I loved about OG's goal was the ironic jeers
from the Everton fans
when they assumed AR had knocked his cross
out of
play on the full — 4 or 5 seconds later the ball was in the
back of their net.
Picture this, we don't come
out of the gate firing on all cylinders, Wenger speaks of how there wasn't enough time for the first - teamers to build chemistry, several key players aren't even
playing because of Wenger's utterly ridiculous policy regarding players who
played in the Confed Cup or the under21s and the boo - birds have returned in full flight... if these things were to happen, which is quite possible considering the Groundhog Day mentality of this club, how long do you think it will take for Wenger to recant his earlier statements regarding Europa... I would suggest that it's these sorts of comments
from Wenger which are often his undoing... why would any manager worth his weight in salt make such a definitive statement before the season has even started... why would any manager who fashions himself an educated man make such pronouncements before even knowing what his starting 11 will be come Friday, let alone on September 1st... why would any manager who has a tenuous relationship with a great many supporters offer up such a potentially contentious talking point considering how many times his own words have come
back to bite him in the ass... I think he does this because he doesn't care what you or I think, in fact he's more than slightly infuriated by the very idea of having to answer to the likes of you and me... that might have been acceptable during his formative years in charge,
when the fans were rewarded with an scintillating brand of football and success felt like a forgone conclusion, but this new Wenger led team barely resembles that team of ore... whereas in times past we relished a few words
from our seemingly cerebral manager, in recent times those words have been replaced by a myriad of excuses, a plethora of infuriating stories about who he could have signed but didn't and what can only be construed as outright fabrications... it's kind of funny that
when we want some answers, like during the whole contract debacle of last season, we can't get an intelligent word
out of him, but
when we just what him to show his managerial acumen through his actions, we can't seem to get him to shut - up... I beg you to prove me wrong Arsene
Was it not the same Crystal Palace which beat Chelsea who wanted to win the EPL than anything else? What he said told me we had still not changed.Season after season we see those kind of performances
from Arsenal against smaller teams. They were also better than us on that day.Character and strong mentality is one area where Arsenal have failed over and over again. We find it hard to win
when we're not
playing well or a man down.Liverpool don't even have many world class players yet they
play their hearts
out to the extent that you think they're very good.If Arsenal overcome this barrier we will win the league this season and would've won the league some seasons
back.
Between welbeck sanchez and chamberlain we have enough pace and creativity to either
play it
out from the
back or
play it long, but
when we have seven players attacking the box and no one shielding the defence we're going to keep drawing and losing games
Monreal (who should be asked to be cautious as he ventures forward) and hopefully with his defensive bias, should be able to track
back and help
out in the defense
when we are short at the
back, and OX on the right side who,
from evidence of his having
played there and performed in the shortness of this season games, and with enough pace to track
back when necessary — but with a bias for going forward — would be a good mix to start with.

why do you feel it necessary to take jabs at jack hes been
out for ages and
when he was
playing he was
playing better than most of the team,, he was improving after coming
back from difficult recoveries ramsey cazorla ect were having trouble getting there form at that time aswell get ur head
out ur arse,,
One of his good friennds
from Arsenal is Francis Coquelin, who had his own issues with form and fitness and seemed to be heading
out od the club until a loan spell at Charlton helped and he took his chance
when called
back to
play for the Gunners, something he has
backed his old pal to do as well.
when per and kos
played together kos was always having to cover behind per for the over the top ball into space, and yesterday he wasnt gabriel was tracking across to help kos and likewise it looked like it could develop into a top partnership However i do not think per will stay on the bench all season, as captain / vice captain wenger wont allow it Is it me or ever since the WC and retiring
from international football, does mertesacker look less motivated to
play, he isnt even trying to run
back whenever the ball is
played over him and he is always taking the easiest possible option Hope that we can sell per in the summer and buy van dijk but i very much doubt there is a club
out there that will want to buy mertesacker
Cardiff City's strengths can be categorised into four different elements of
play: Set
Plays Positional
play when playing out from the
back (in their own half) The defensive organisation of their medium and low blocks Wide
play as an entry route into the opposition's box It is by no coincidence that each of Cardiff's strengths are that of...
This makes me cautiously optimistic about the rest of the season, as our defeats against Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton etc have seemed to result
from us struggling to get anything
out of games
when it's not a «
backs against the walls» job, and we have to actually open up and
play.
Initially it is, of course, important to point
out that it is only natural for his interception and tackles numbers to be down
from his Southampton days,
when he
played for a team who had to
play on the
back - foot more often than at Liverpool.
After a troublesome opening few minutes, in which Watford's intensity appeared to unnerve him, he grew into the game and looked confident
when it came to directing and attempting to build
play up
from out the
back.
When it is Matip and Van Dijk paired, the club will also have one of the tallest centre half partnerships not only in England but in the game, but a partnership that despite its height remains highly skilled on the ball, able to pass themselves
out of danger and to build
play from the
back.
Why buy players and not
play them Why
play players
out of there natural positions to accommodate others The 2 league games Rob Holding as
played this season he's had no protection in front of him Our defence is exposed to far too many 1 on1 situations IMO the easy part of football is
when you have the ball the difficult bit is
when you don't have the ball and the discipline of getting
back into the right position we lacked this today Sorry I've written this because I've never seen a display like this
from Arsenal only a couple of observations I've never cricticised Arsenal or Arsenal before Hope it can be put right
Hoedt's passing was reminiscent of van Dijk at his best at times — after 14 minutes you could see that
when he broke
out from the
back, to
play in Manolo Gabbiadini.
It had just been confirmed that three minutes of stoppage time would be
played when, following a cross into Palace's penalty area which came
back out off James McArthur, the Serbian met the loose ball with a powerful strike
from 25 yards that Hennessey had little chance of stopping.
After all, why care about the national team and the WorldCup
when u have all the players
from all the countries in the World
playing at your
back yard season in, season
out.
Our transfer policy needs looking into IMO because something is not right
when you buy someone, knowing he has no chance at all of
playing first team football for your club, then loan him
out for six years, sell him to the club you got him
from, buy him
back to sell him but can't so sell him
back to the original club again.
Liverpool's gameplan was as always to
play patiently
out from the
back when in possession, press high
out of it and hit hard on the counter.
Defensively adept wide forwards such as Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt and Manchester United's Park Ji - Sung have evolved
out of the need for attacking players to prevent opposition sides
playing the ball
out from the
back when their teams» own attacking moves have broken down.
Walcott and Bolasie, then, are asked to adopt positions tight to the flank, where they are routinely picked
out by the pinpoint passing of Wayne Rooney — and, on occasion, centre - halves Michael Keane and Phil Jagielka,
when that pair have the opportunity to lift their heads and
play out from the
back.
He was particularly impressive
when it came to
playing out from the
back, remaining unafraid distributing the ball under pressure
from the onrushing attackers.
The incentive to leave what they are doing, get clean and move onto something that won't be as messy (messy = fun) needs to be good — food,
play outside, a fun bath (check
out these ideas
from Bath Activities for Kids for inspiration) usually work for us and reduce the tantrums, things then can be put to dry and
when they are dry we can come
back to them and finish them off.
Lol We always respond to our children, but patience must be practiced
when getting minor needs met (such as «come
play this game with me»
when we just got
back from a family
outing).
