In the search for a fresh take on what is obviously perceived to be a tired genre, screenwriters have recently taken
the plots of romantic comedies to further and further depths of stupidity.
WHAT: While out to dinner with their two friends, Joel (Paul Rudd) and Molly (Amy Poehler) recount the story of how they met and fell in love — an extraordinarily cheesy romance that sounds like
the plot of a romantic comedy film.

of real people have experienced, and at its sharpest, the script can be quite perceptive about the passive - aggressive politics

romantic comedies rarely do nowadays.

romantic comedy, and hence it doesn't begin to touch on the level
of wit and imagination that Jeunet brings to the story.

Luketic does keep the energy level high enough to save the film from action -
comedy lulls, but the lack
of an interesting

romantic action genre.
Instead, it's a
romantic comedy where the two love interests just so happen to be real - life action heroes, and while the scenes between Pine and Hardy in the field are a lot
of fun, the main
plot involving Reese Witherspoon dating both men at the same time is beyond ridiculous.
