Seeing Donald Judd's plywood box show at Paula Cooper Gallery in 1976 motivated him to make contemporary art by offering a very different example than had Ansel Adams in the realm of art photography.
One of the two in the current show was a reiteration in steel plate of a 1974 plywood work, a 3 x 5 x 5» cube with its «lid» slanting down into the box from the top of one edge to the bottom of that directly opposite.
