It comes as no surprise to MRSA Action UK that the NHS has been put on red alert following reports that 400
cases of infection
by deadly superbugs involving NDM - 1 and other Carbapenem - resistant organisms involving Klebsiella
pneumonia and E.coli.

The bacterium can be «carried»
by dogs in their upper respiratory tract (most likely their tonsils) without showing any symptoms of disease and it is likely that, as yet unknown, bacterial, host or environmental factors, possibly including an over-exuberant immune response to the bacteria, are responsible for the severe
pneumonia observed in the worst
cases.
But, in some
cases, it can turn into a complicated health issue, like
cases of bronchitis in dogs caused
by secondary infections to those caused
by pneumonia and
pneumonia and tracheo - bronchitis (Kennel Cough).
It is important to distinguish an uncomplicated
case of kennel cough from one complicated
by pneumonia for obvious reasons.
