in the direction of some resources that would inform the
conversation because ---- with the exception of a few interlocutors ---- pervasive ignorance and fear seem to....
I was tempted at first to give maybe a 10
point list of advice for parents going through deconstruction
in front of their kids... things like let them see the books you read and answer their curiosities about them; teach your kids how to think, not how to believe; tell them everything you're going through and let them deal with what it means for them; ask them what they believe and listen objectively and engage
in conversation about it; openly share your struggles with what you're going through with the church and let them process it themselves, and so
on.
While I don't agree with every
point in every one of these comments, articles, and quotes — I've included thoughts from Christians, Jews, and even atheists — I think they provide great fodder for
conversation and may help you as you work through all this
on your own.
I've done a TON of reading
on both sides of the issue, I'm more than a little familiar with the talking
points, and
in a one -
on - one
conversation I'll tend to take the opposite side from whoever I talk to.
Even though I might disagree with some emphases, I believe we can learn from the ideas of others
in the missional
conversation without having to agree with them
on every
point.
The form of argument

in constructing empowering
conversations in modern democratic development and as a venue for values discourse; fifth, the importance, especially
in a cross-cultural context, of indigenization of constitutionalism through local institutional embodiment; and sixth, the value of extending research focused
on the positive engendering or enabling function of constitutionalism to the developmental context
in general and East Asia
in particular.
