People who have not gotten the basic facts about their life straight will not do the things that make learning from Jesus possible and will never be able to understand the
basic points in the lessons to be learned.
Semi-retired and returning to do some relief teaching, I also find saying «moving on...» after a
discussion point in the lesson, to a talkative class, helps to get them to return their attention and move to the next part of the lesson.
Is empathy a skill that can even be taught, a «competency» that you should bullet -
point in your lesson plan, something that requires pre-assessment?

what point in the lesson you are at, whether starting, packing away, or introducing a secondary aspect to a lesson, providing students with MINT instructions will remove any pestiferous «what do I need to do?»

transition points in a lesson to encourage students to explain ideas (particularly students aiming for level 5).

For this reason, no day at Village Green is routine; students will work on some subjects longer than others if they need to and teachers will work with different groups of students depending on which students need to learn the same skill at

this point in the lesson.
At one

a point in your lesson, then that's even better.
