Making your resume easy to read (set headers, brief explanations, clear bullet
points) can help
get you in the «to
interview» pile and out
of the «tl; dr» pile.
But the
point of the exercise is
getting the client equality document that will win
interviews consistently over time.
If your resume and cover letter fail to communicate why you should

interview, then what's the
point of putting «excellent communication skills» on paper?
If your resume makes the cut and you make it to the next

interview of some kind), falling short in experience could
get your hopes up for an inevitable disappointment when they go with someone who better fits the job description.

point during your job search, so why not increase your odds
of getting selected for an
interview by giving folks a taste
of what you can do for them.
