at least lets you calculate, within general parameters, what the tradeoff is between fixed - value and flexible rewards
points, between hotel
points and airline miles, and between manufactured spend and
signup bonuses.
A couple of them were slightly smaller than what I expected, but still not bad
at all for a deal that paid out $ $ $ for gift cards that earned tens of thousands of Ultimate Rewards
points at 5
points per dollar and helped me complete the
signup bonus threshold spending for my Chase business 3BM that netted over 125,000
signup points.
That said, I wouldn't preclude the possibility of taking the 20K
points and, later on this year, revisiting whether I wanted to keep the card or whether it might be better to close it, wait
at least 90 days, and apply for the AMEX Mercedes - Benz Platinum card, which still offers a 50K
signup bonus (see Best Travel Rewards Credit Cards), assuming there wasn't a better public or targeted
bonus offer).
