points for an award night is compensated for the fact that it can offer 15 points per dollar, while Hyatt offers only 5 points per dollar.

With most of the acceptable / good Club Carlson hotels now costing 70,000
points for an award night you would have to spend $ 1,490 during the promotion period to get a «free night» at one of those properties....
Compare the price you'd have to pay for
the points for an award night to the cash price of the room for a night you'd like to stay — that will tell you if you can save money by buying points.
Wyndham Rewards has revamped its program recently, you just need 15,000

The Grand Hyatt Melbourne is a Category 4 property, meaning it costs 15,000
points for an award night stay.
This offer waives the annual fee for the first year and also gives you 1 free night in a cat 1 - 4 hotel upon approval (You need 20,000
points for an award night in a cat 4 hotel)
The only positive change is for those who plan to redeem
your points for award nights in India, where a lot of hotels have dropped to lower categories, which means you will need less points for award nights.
Because complimentary award nights start at 9,000 points, members who participate in the Two Nights 10,000 Points promotion will receive enough bonus
points for an award night.
In addition, members will be able to redeem their Hyatt Gold Passport
points for award nights at MGM Resorts in Las Vegas.
Of course, when SPG loyalty members redeem Starwood
points for award nights at SPG hotels, the value is terrific, especially with the 5th night free.
