Harvard's Czeisler recommends developing corporate
policies around sleep, with scheduled work limited to no more than 12 hours a day, and at least 11 consecutive hours of rest in every 24 - hour period.
Harvard's Czeisler, perhaps the leading expert on
sleep and productivity, points out that while corporations have
policies around harmful practices such as smoking and drinking, they tacitly encourage long hours unrelieved by sufficient rest.
