engineers and those who left less
than five years ago showed no differences in confidence to perform
engineering tasks, manage multiple life roles or navigate organizational
politics, nor did they show differences in vocational interests, the study found.
But rather
than look down on the process of
politics, the successful scientists and
engineers of the future will find ways of understanding and participating in «
politics» while not losing sight of the higher ideals of their scientific community.
However, for this to happen faster, some social
engineering needs to be done to bring those two groups together so that meat - eaters can appreciate that vegetable dishes can be just as or even better
than meat, and vegetarians can stop being so dogmatic about their views on food
politics.
(Their current problem is a consequence of senior people there not understanding rapidly changing political dynamics but they'll learn about
politics faster
than the politicians learn about
engineering.)
