Since
professional writers already depend on agents / contract lawyers (since even the best and most caring
editors are still on the publisher's payroll, not the author's), and as the share
of self - published books grows, it seems unavoidable that some agents and
editors will merge /
pool their talents to provide writers with the external services they require (accounting, editorial counsel, copy - proofing) so that authors can focus on their core trade.

professionals across the industry spectrum, including: acquisition librarians; bookstore buyers; wholesalers and distributors; reviewers;
editors; designers and artists.
