For instance, a trader may

use their knowledge (consciously or subconsciously) to duck and dodge what seems to me is the inescapable logic of the superiority of SM in the case of most people who are in
position to do it (this I know not from
technical analysis or anything, just looking at people who have as much or more income than I do, with similar expenses, but they have half the house or less and are going nowhere fast with their debt to asset ratio and their retirement savings are going to be inadequate if they don't change what they are doing).

More generally, particularly if you
use technical analysis etc. to support your value investing and layer in & out of
positions, this approach can be a real plus.
I think this trade can be
used with some
technical analysis indicator, when the 200 simple moving average is in a flat
position.
Both these features perform a similar function to the
Technical Analysis tool, but with one difference, i.e., the SL is
used before opening a
position while the TP can
use used handle everything that follows opening a trade.
Technical analysis certainly wouldn't be the reason I start or finish with a
position, but I do
use it regularly to assess my risk management, and to help with the timing of adding to / reducing
positions.
