young people about what's right or wrong and making sure that they are not in a
position where they are suffering the consequences... If they choose that path of ignorance and allow their
child to just use that application without any guidance from an adult, that's when they end up in trouble and then the ramifications of that are quite extreme for certain individuals.»
Having
worked for an organisation that dealt
with integration of non-nationals and disadvantaged [5]
children in Dutch society and the educational system for primary school
children specifically, there was heartbreaking evidence and examples that those who needed to assess the environmental conditions
young children were catapulted into, could not — and will never — understand the extent of trauma these
children and their parents had been exposed to; subsequently, unable to realistically assess the cause of underachievement and trauma, nor adequate measures could be taken to equip fugitives
with sufficient resources to overcome this disadvantaged
position.
However, this approach likely makes the most sense if you're applying for a
position where your skills are directly transferable, such as
working with young children.
Even though these past
positions might not be specifically within preschool classrooms, her experience
working with young children in different situations and classrooms has been emphasized.
When I first started
with FCS I had been interested in
working in an administrative
position but the nature of what FCS do really appealed to me and I wanted to be part of a team helping
children and
young people.
We co-chaired the
working group tasked
with updating the 1996
position statement on Technology and
Young Children — Ages 3 through 8 — Taking the PAST FORWARD.
