Senator James Inhofe (R - OK), a longtime global warming denier who has called man - made climate change «the greatest scientific scandal of our generation,» criticized the award and asked the Justice Department to investigate prominent IPCC scientists for
possible academic misconduct (they were never charged).
Something all can agree on, however, is that
misconduct in the United Kingdom, particularly in the area of medical research, is an endemic problem: An informal survey released by BMJ at the meeting showed that out of 2700 responses by BMJ subscribers, 13 % of medical and
academic researchers had witnessed
misconduct and 6 % were aware of
possible research
misconduct at their institution that hadn't been properly investigated.
One day after the Canadian Judicial Council issued its recommendation to not remove Justice Michel Girouard from the bench — despite a suspicious video of an alleged drug deal — a legal
academic is pointing to a glaring lack of independence for judicial
misconduct and a
possible double standard.
