Tomorrow you will see More Moxie sign - ups for those interested (people from the July / August session automatically get rolled into this one) and an actual
post on baby sleep.

I know that because I
slept with a small
baby boy up against my body for what felt like forever and now he's almost the length of a twin bed with a sign
posted on his door to «PLEASE KNOCK THERE IS A STAR WARS BOY IN HERE BEWARE.»
Mama to 5 Blessings wrote this
post on behalf of
Sleeping Baby.
I was reading
on the blog and came across a
post that mentioned that if a
baby sleeps during nursing, they aren't likely to take a good nap.

On other
posts you mention not dropping the dream feed until
baby sleeps from dream feed until morning wake up time.
I've read all your
posts on the 45 minute intruder, troubleshooting and what to do when
baby wakes early but I couldn't find what I should do to keep them
on a 3 hours eat play
sleep schedule when they wake up after 45 minutes.
Where appropriate, I will refute mainstream parenting myths (e.g. that you must teach a
baby to
sleep or they will never learn to
sleep) or demonstrate where some mainstream approaches could be dangerous (e.g. my recent
post highlighting Macall Gordon's work comparing CIO recommendations in infant
sleep books with actual research
on CIO).

My last
post on overnight cloth diapers sparked some great conversations and inspired me to write about Side Sleepers - that is,
babies who
sleep on their sides.
Always be
on the look out for when you can do less as a parent and allow your
baby or toddler to do more (this is good advice beyond
sleep, too, but that's another
post)!
We're constantly bombarded with articles, blog
posts, celeb stories, news reports, studies and images about what mothers should look like and be like and say and do and wear and buy and how we should feed our
babies and where and when they should
sleep and when they should do each thing and when we should do each thing and how we should be angry at people who don't chose our choices and how many Instagram likes we should have
on each photo and you know what?
and most today only think it's «normal» when a
baby isn't getting what it needs first... SO THAT IT HAS NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO CRY... and you should read «it takes a village» by clinton... yes parents are people too and yes if you don't take care of yourself first then you can't take care of your
baby... just like when you get
on an airplane you're instructed to in an emergency put
on your oxygen mask first THEN help the child sitting next to you... BUT the only reason it's impossible for most people to keep their
baby from crying is because they are trying to raise their
babies alone without the help of the «village»... so come down off your high horse and just ask for help... it will not only help you (listed you first because of your obvious selfishness from your
post... «we don't stop having needs to
sleep and eat and have relations with our peers either») but it will mostly benefit the
baby.
We will discuss more details of these points in other
posts in this series
on baby sleep training.
Humans are the only mammals
on the planet who suffer from
post - partum depression and
post - partum psychosis - we are also the only mammals
on the planet who are drugged during birth, nurse by a clock, don't
sleep with our
babies, time our nursing sessions, supplement with formula, use pacifiers (and a myraid of other behaviors that disrupt ancient hormonal production during lactation).

I've talked about this
on my own blog, but one of the issues I take with pro-CIO
posts is that it implies that it's «OK» to do this; I worry that this gives both parents to be and new parents struggling with the NORMAL
sleep patterns of a newborn
baby the nod to try CIO /
sleep training straight away.
