Ironically, I have had, in the days since you
posted this cartoon, multiple relatives and «friends» who profess their Christianity from the mountaintops, let me know just how vile I am for not adhering to their thoughts
on marriage equality, social justice, poverty, the oil spill, the President... you name it.
When the Institute for American Values asked me to write a short response to their new report
on marriage, I was happy to oblige and am grateful they
posted it.
Reacting to the result
on Wednesday, Archbishop of Sydney Dr Glenn Davies said in a video
posted online: «Although this won't prevent me from continuing to teach that
marriage, in God's good design, is between a men and a woman... the reality will be, in a very short period of time, our Parliament will legislate for same - sex
marriage.»
I also did for some reason around that time write a blogpost about
marriage in reaction to something T had written, just theoretically because I didn't know anything about the backstory until I read Bills
post and some comment elsewhere
on a blog that I can't remember.
I'd planned to write a lengthy
post outlining all the marital advice I've accumulated over the last six years, but seeing as I still have to get my hair done, throw a bachelorette party, and work
on my toast, I thought I'd keep it short and condense my top ten
marriage tips to tweet - sized morsels.
I'm especially interested in your feedback after this
post, as Christian
marriage books based
on mutual submission can be hard to come by.
In a blog
post on February 28, I pointed out that opposition to gay
marriage faces a steep uphill struggle.
Where was I wrong, in my original
post, about the teachings of the church
on gay
marriage.
Update (Feb. 1): In his first public comments, Saeed Abedini told the Idaho Statesman that «much of what I have read in Naghmeh's
posts and subsequent media reports is not true,» but he plans to work
on rebuilding their
marriage in private because «personal issues are best dealt with personally.»
In my last
post, I reviewed part of Stan Grenz's book
on sexual ethics, focusing
on the purpose and meaning of
marriage and sex.
The
post above was part of the 2015 Sychroblog
on Gay
Marriage.
Also, in my last
post, I shared an article
on «President Obama, Same - Sex
Marriage, and the Future of Evangelical Response.»
Recently, Thabiti Anyabwile wrote a
post entitled «The Importance of Your Gag Reflex When Discussing Homosexuality and «Gay
Marriage»», which was
posted on his Gospel Coalition - hosted blog.
Now let me be clear: I believe the
post exhibits homophobia, not because of the author's conservative position
on same - sex
marriage, and not because the author intended to be hateful, but because the
post employs degrading, fear - based language to dehumanize gay and lesbian people.
We intend to put together a
post of resources for egalitarian or mutually - submissive
marriages within the next week or two based
on your input.
For those who feel a bit overwhelmed by reading two deep theology
posts, Richard has distilled much of the theological content in a compare and contrast format in a
post on his blog entitled «Same Sex
Marriage in the Image of God?»
I had wondered how politically savvy supporters of «gay
marriage» would react to the recent statement entitled «Beyond Same - Sex Marriage,» and how they would respond to my posting last week calling attention to the fact that the statement follows through on the logic of demands for legal recognition of same - sex unions by endorsing relationships involving multiple (i.e., more than two) sex p

Marriage.
The Washington

marriage debate After Chick - fil - A President Dan Cathy's comments
on marriage launched a national «Eat Mor Chikin» backlash, another cultural bigwig, former Arkansas governor and Baptist preacher Mike Huckabee, announced Sunday that he was coordinating a campaign in support of the «company run by Christian principles.»
While most readers seemed to enjoy today's
post, «25 Things That Shouldn't Scare Christians,» I understand that some felt I was picking
on conservatives disproportionately, insinuating that those who oppose gay
marriage and «happy holiday» greetings do so solely out of fear.
