The salary negotiation was scariest, because it's a nonprofit and they actually came in above
their posted salary range so I felt kind of guilty about asking for more.

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne announced Tuesday pay transparency legislation that would require all publicly advertised job
postings to include a
salary rate or
range, bar employers from asking about past compensation and prohibit reprisal against employees who do discuss or disclose compensation.
Those laws demand

range but don't require details about clients and work that could reveal conflicts of interest.
The
salary for these grades
ranges from # 20,000 to # 37,500 for Grade B
posts and up to # 60,000 in a consultant

Ever since large law firm
salaries for new associates jumped to $ 160,000 back in January, we've heard commentary from a variety of constituencies,
ranging from (see this
post) law firm recruiters, warning that increased billables will place more pressure on associates, to lawyers, arguing that increased
salaries demand concommitant
salary raises for the judiciary, to (see this
post) law firm economists, suggesting that associate
salaries are proportionately lower than ever when viewed in the context of their relationship to profits per partner, to law firm marketers who view increased rates as opening opportunities for less expensive, midsized firms.
While all government positions are

salary range listed, only about half of non-governmental jobs share
salary information.
And second, if they're concerned that you'll be unhappy with the
salary they're offering, they can solve that by
posting their
range upfront or ask you about your
salary expectations rather than
salary history.
For example, if a job
posting asks for
salary requirements, a candidate could say in the $ 25,000 - $ 35,000
range.
Employers could eliminate this ritual by providing a
salary range up front in their job
postings — because a
range exists.
Employers should supply
salary information, albeit a broad
range, in job
