As the Washington
Post reported on Monday, «
By the end of their three - week operation in Louisiana and Mississippi, the Mexicans had served 170,000
meals, helped distribute more than 184,000 tons of supplies and conducted more than 500 medical consultations.»

Studies have shown that even in the event of complete glycogen depletion (which is very very unlikely), replenishment to pre-workout levels occurs assuming you eat a
meal within 24 hours of working out, even if you delay your
post workout carbohydrate intake
by several hours.
So, you may remember that my
meal prep
posts are actually staggered
by one week from my actual
meal prep (this week's
post is of last Sunday's prep and so on).
I have had a wonderful weekend, with the first ever Iowa BBG Meet - up, an easy
meal prep (remember my
posts are staggered
by one week), a home movie - date with Draz and a lot of time working on my Etsy store!
This
post is brought to you
by my being super busy getting a
meal ready for the thanksgiving dinner I'm attending tonight (and am SO EXCITED about).
I will share the recipe for the
meals I have made with it in upcoming
posts, but for now, I thought that I should start out
by sharing the taco seasoning from my guide and cookbook!
I was reminded of this
post recently because we were in Key West with family (rented out a big property on the ocean for a wedding) last month and we split the dinner
meals up
by having each family do the
meal for a certain night.

Meal Prep Power Bowl (Running Coaches Corner)
Indeed, in a forthcoming Spork Report
post I'll share photos of some new, attractive dining concepts recently introduced
by HISD / Aramark — some of which are only for cash payment (i.e., the
meals are not eligible for federal reimbursement.)
While they aren't as horrible looking as the ones
posted by Ms. Q on FedUpWithSchoolLunch, some of the
meal choices are fat laden and loaded with stuff that isn't good.
Minutes ago, the Washington
Post published online a follow - up story
by Ferdman (a story which will appear in tomorrow's print paper) that unequivocally confirms McDonald's pulled the plug on the entire Cisna / 540
Meals in - school program — and that it did so last fall, right around the time of my initial Lunch Tray
posts, our Change.org petition and Ferdman's original front page report.
and elaborated on in subsequent
posts (e.g.,» A Follow - Up to the Infamous «Cheetos - and - Nach0 - Sauce» Photo «-RRB-, the shame of being seen in line for the federally reimbursable
meal can prevent economically disadvantaged children from eating lunch, a problem that's exacerbated when when attractive, for - cash - only, snack - bar items are also made available
by schools in so - called «a la carte» lines.
And I actually suspect that the money available to schools for food may be much higher, given this
post by Karen Le Billon which indicates that parents are assessed a price on a sliding scale, with the wealthiest parents paying a whopping $ 7 per
meal.
In this
post, I gleefully announced that after 20 years of management
by Aramark, Houston ISD had hired Betti Wiggins, the much - admired school food director, to head up our
meal program.
Just to explain what I meant
by a «visionary,» I named three legendary school food directors in the
post: «Ann Cooper of the Boulder Valley School District, Bertrand Weber of Minneapolis Public Schools and Betti Wiggins of Detroit Public Schools — all committed, caring school food professionals who've radically transformed their district's
meals for the better.»
