McDonald's, based in Oak Brook, Illinois, has begun
posting calorie information on menu boards.
In October, he announced that he'd gotten Coca - Cola, PepsiCo, and Dr Pepper Snapple to agree to
post calorie information on vending machines in Chicago government buildings (something that they will have to do anyway whenever the FDA ever gets around to issuing final rules for menu labeling).
As part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, chain restaurants with 20 or more locations nationwide are required to
post calorie information on menus with the aim of helping customers make healthier food choices.
On December 1, 2016, calorie labeling will go into effect nationwide, with the Food and Drug Administration requiring all chain restaurants with at least 20 locations to
post calorie information.

Covered establishments must also
post two prescribed statements on menus and menu boards: A succinct statement regarding daily caloric intake («2,000
calories a day is used for general nutrition advice, but
calorie needs vary») and a statement regarding the availability of additional nutrition
information («Additional nutrition
information available upon request.»).
I know that you don't
post nutritional
information on your blog but any guesstimate on the
calories for 1/16 of the recipe (1 bar)?

post, a lot of people asked me if I could provide nutritional
information for the recipe: ie the
calories, fat, and protein per bar.
You'll find nutritional
information underneath most recipes I
post, whether
calorie - laden or figure - friendly, so that you can be smart about your sweets, too!

A third of those surveyed by phone did not see
calorie labels
posted and nearly two thirds surveyed at point - of - purchase did not notice the
calorie information.
I don't provide that kind of
information in my
posts because I don't like to encourage
calorie counting, but for those who need or want that sort of info, there are wonderful online recipe calculators.
I don't usually include nutrition
information in my
posts for two reasons: 1) I don't count
calories myself (instead I try and stick to eating a variety of «real food»), and 2) because I'm not a nutritionist, I can't guarantee accurate
information.
Get a cheap kitchen scale and measure your portions of food, use a database of nutritional
information (see my previous
post for a software tool) and calculate your
calorie intake.
