The much anticipated 225 Megawatts capacity
power barge from Turkey, is finally in Ghanaian waters in the Western Region, and is being escorted to Tema.
The power barge was originally scheduled to dock at the Tema Port in the first quarter of this year, but this has since been rescheduled three times.

This comes after the Black Marlin, a speed deck cargo ship transporting
the power barge arrived in Abidjan on Sunday.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances,
the power barge will be released to sail to Tema Port pulled by two speed boats which will take approximately 5 days to finally dock at the Tema Port.
The power barge contracted from Turkey is part of the medium term measures adopted by government to mitigate the effects of the power crisis.
However, the country has seen some stability in the power sector since the arrival of an emergency
