When we treat it as divine, we encourage the quest for controlling
power by believers.

by some of the things I write, but to them I'll simply say this: the Word of God is the most powerful thing that exists - both the written word and the Living word; and it's time to start believing God and to take hold of the ident.ity that He has given you and live and use that ident.ity Lance Wallnau calls it the «
believers edge» which unfortunately only 8 % of the body of Christ ever gets into - that rare realm that individuals mature to the place where they have the
power to co-create with God and bring the future into the present.
Like Luther, Lumen Gentium affirms the common priesthood of the faithful and grounds it in a shared participation of all

by regeneration and the anointing of the Holy Spirit, are consecrated to be a spiritual house and a holy priesthood, in order that through all those works which are those of the Christian man they may offer spiritual sacrifices and proclaim the

Naming / defining is an exercise of
power over others, so perhaps naming other persons made in the Divine image, with the potential to become godlike,
by labeling them «
believers» or «unbelievers» is a failure to see all people as God sees them, children of the one true God.
The simple truth is that the internet and social media has userped the
power of the «church» to control the people, and people who once occupied pews now find it easier to find like minded
believers (of all fathis and creeds) online and can be exposed to any theology they want
by simply using Google.
Can Christian
believers be grasped
by the promise of the new age and the perils of the transition in such a way that leads them into a fresh experience of the gospel of Christ and the
power of the Spirit?
Through Nietzsche's vision of Eternal Recurrence we can sense the ecstatic liberation occasioned
by the collapse of the transcendence of Being,
by the death of God — and we may witness a similar ecstasy in Rilke and Proust; and, from Nietzsche's portrait of Jesus, theology must learn of the
power of an eschatological faith that can liberate the contemporary
believer from the inescapable reality of history.
There are numerous avenues
by which this idea is presented in church settings, but most often it revolves around the idea that we serve a powerful God, and God has dispensed some of that
power upon all
believers, but especially the leaders of the church
by giving them wisdom, vision, and special spiritual gifts.

power «Lord of

It is the same deliverance Paul taught in Romans, which is, from temporal (i.e. non-eternal) wrath for Jew and Gentile
believers which deliverance is obtained not
by walking
by the
power of indwelling sin, but
by walking in the Spirit (Rom 8).
