power over the people religions and there difference suddenly come together.

Communist (extreme left wing) and fascist (extreme right wing) governments are totalitarian in nature and, as such, they opposed organized
religion the same way that they opposed unions; because they held rival
power over people.

I've heard these very things said by those who are on the other end of the
people who use
religion and politics to enrich themselves, give them
power and authority
over their fellow human beings and draw attention to themselves rather than to God.
They hate
religion because it has
power over the
people that should be reserved for the supreme leader.
Regardless of the faith, I feel that
religion for many
people is about personal
power over others, and this corrupts the whole reason
people go at all.

Since the start of man,
people have also killed
over land,
power and so on, so it's not just
religion; though
people typically have an easier time believing some crazy
person's claim that they represent their faith in their violent acts... somehow?
In the mean time try not to rush to judge too harshly the
over 3 billion
people in this world who believe in some kind of
religion or a higher
power above themselves.
Similarly, they did not merely say there should be separation of church and state; rather, they actually separated them by (1) establishing a secular government on the
power of «We the
people» (not a deity), (2) saying nothing to connect that government to god (s) or
religion, (3) saying nothing to give that government
power over matters of god (s) or
religion, and (4), indeed, saying nothing substantive about god (s) or
religion at all except in a provision precluding any religious test for public office.
OH, but don't forget WW1 and WW2 were because of religiou... oh NO WAIT no they weren't
over religion... they were
over a
power hungry
people.
